Mondo is proud to present the premiere vinyl soundtrack to Simon Belmont's first 16-Bit adventure, the 1991 SNES classic Super Castlevania IV. Super Castlevania IV, technically a remake of the first CASTLEVANIA game, puts you back into boots of vampire hunter Simon Belmont. But if the first Castlevania soundtrack was like a band's debut garage album, Super Castlevania IV is where they finally got into a major recording studio and fully fleshed out their sonic ambitions. The Super Nintendo's sound chip brought the franchise into the world of synth for the first time. It allowed Konami's composers to use audio samples to achieve an instrumentation previously unattainable on earlier systems. From the moment SUPER CASTLEVANIA IV begins you can hear the difference, with synthesized samples of organs and chiming bells, that set a more cinematic tone for Simon's quest to fell the devil's castle. But it's not all graveyards and fog; by the time you arrive at the fourth track on the album, "Simon Belmont's Theme," you reach the new gold standard for the music of Castlevania. And when you get to Track 8, "Mechanical Trick Castle," you are hearing Konami Kukeiha Club at it's absolute finest, producing epic, bombastic score with prog rock elements that would remain the backbone of the franchise for years to come. Remastered for vinyl and cut at 45RPM across two heavyweight LPs with beautiful original artwork by Jenolab, the soundtrack to Super Castlevania IV is essential video game music.

OST is great, vinyl quality less so.
It’s mondo so the vinyl quality is...fine. There are more pops than I’ve come to expect these days, but it’s one of my favorite video games OSTs and is cool to have on my shelf.

Fantastic Vinyl
The sound quality is superb. Every track from Super Castlevania IV is on these two clean, well pressed vinyls. The artwork is subjective but I thouroughly like it, it really fits the game well.

Good product, bad handling and zero protection in packing
The music is amazing but the slip/ cover of the vinyl arrived damaged, it was shipped in a bag with no firm protection to the product at all. I won't return it because there are no more. This is a review of the state of how the product arrived not the product itself.

Great music, not so great art
Amazing soundtrack. Solid pressing. The cover art isn’t the best, but I highly recommend.

Excellent product - at 45RPM!!
Super Castlevania IV as a video game has one of the greatest soundtracks ever. For an old game of the 16bit era that is quite a claim but it holds up. It us eerily atmospheric and this vinyl recreation sounds great. The packaging is pleasing too - though maybe it would have been better if some of the original game's artwork was included. One point to note - this album runs at 45RPM - not 33RPM as most LPs do...... I was starting to doubt my turntable! It doesn't state this on the packaging - I had to refer to the Mondo website to find that out.
