Ordered by mistake. Not worth sending back. I'll eventually use it for something.

Avoid at all cost
I had purchased one cable back in 2018 for my media PC and it worked; this time around wasn't so lucky. Got everything connected - but PC didn't POST - powers on for a second then powers off. Didn't even think of the cable as it should be so basic. Purchased a new PSU - same issue. Issue occurred only when this cable and the SATA data cable were connected to the drive - so thought it may be the drive. Tried with a different slimline optical drive - same issue. Tried the drive and this cable in a completely different system - powered on, but after a few seconds the magic smoke appeared. The cable had shorted somewhere and the plastic housing melted to the drive - luckily nothing else in the system was affected. Thought I had maybe gotten a bum cable - got a replacement - the "new" cable showed the same issue. Avoid if you don't want to risk frying your hardware.

Wites are pretty thin.
Works good.. I bought this double one since a single was double priced.. because logic. I don't like how thin the wires for seemingly all micro sata power are.. if over building something to last far longer than a devices lifetime is underengineering something, they sure overengineer everything these days to last 2 minutes longer than warranties.. a sad world we live in.

PC Wont Boot With These Connected
My PC doesn't boot/POST with either of these connected to my laptop DVD drive. When I attempt to power the computer, it shuts down after 1-second. It will do this repeatedly unless I disconnect this power connector from my DVD drive. I have checked with multiple PSU's and 3 different laptop DVD drives.Just did more research today and apparently not having the yellow/orange wire for 3.3V could likely be the problem. Looking for a better cable now.

... slimline SATA adapter so this has filled the void nicely. Would have preferred all black cables
My PSU didn't come with a slimline SATA adapter so this has filled the void nicely. Would have preferred all black cables, but it works for $8.

Caution can fry your drives
I have used these kind of adapters before but these "ARE" defective. It shorts the power to the ground when you turn the computer on. Depending on your computer it can fry your power supply or your drive. I bought 4 of these and all do it. I searched and found one of the adapters had previously bought from a different manufacturer and it worked fine. Just get from a different manufacturer.

Defective cable
Computer won't turn on if these cables are connected to anything. My Dell Optiplex 990 turns itself off to prevent a short damaging components. As soon as I remove this cable the system can turn on just fine.
