Bicycle Spoke Wraps (20", Red)

I purchased Bicycle Spoke Wraps (20", Red) by Bykas for a 20" (406) spoked wheels. The old spokes were corroded and discolored. The installation of these spoke covers made a huge difference in appearance.Very happy with the look.The Spoke Wraps are actually plastic tubes with a slit down the side. They were the exact length for my installation. The wheels were identical and had a two cross pattern that had all spokes the exact same length. Installation was aided by watching the youtube video that was suggested in the directions but it left a little to be desired part of which is because the video is for motorcycle spokes and not a bicycle. Installation is accomplished by spreading the tube apart slightly at the end then sliding it onto the spoke and pressing so the spoke slides into the slit and clamps around the spoke. The hard part is when you are sliding the wrap it has to be manipulated over or under the cross spoke.The installation for the 20" wheels had only one cross to manipulate but many if not most bicycle wheels have a three cross pattern which requires dealing with two crosses for each spoke. I believe that 700c, 26" and 29" have a little more flex that allows the tube to slide under or over easier but the 20" wheels were much shorter spokes and were quite stiff so flex was almost non existent. I learned a couple of things during the install. One is that keeping the wraps warm so they conform around the spoke easier helped some. Second I loosened the spoke nipples with a spoke wrench one complete turn. Then manipulating the wraps around the crosses was much easier. After installation tightening the spokes one complete turn was necessary.In closing I would say that my experience with the Spoke Wraps was good though I feel they are labor intensive and more expensive than they should be. I think the addition of a reflective Spoke Wrap would be a great safety improvement.

Absolutely love spoke wraps. All my bikes have them on. Easy to instal and you are permantenly commited if you decide to change color scheme

I actually purchased this product for my crf50. One wrap did three spokes! Looks great and easy to install!
