Great knives that are not meant for the novice.
Beautiful knives with a razor sharp edge. My wife and I love them but my wife didn't like the raw wood handles. To me, that is not a flaw, I love that I can now stain them to a color that I want. If you are looking for a great set of Japanese at an inexpensive price look no further. I will say that these knives are not for the beginner that does not know how to care for, use or sharpen single bevel Japanese knives. If you are looking for something you can abuse and throw in a drawer then this is not the set for you. If you know that you should be using a rubber cutting board and are willing to hone and care for the edge after use then these are the knives for you.

Save your money, they send trash.
Where to begin? :I ordered these for a birthday present, opened them to check them and they are crap. The handles on both knives are so poorly made. The blades have been put in crooked and the bolsters are plastic, not buffolo horn. The wood seems to be of the same material shipping pallets are made out of. I didn't expect amazing quality like some of my 400+ dollar knives. But I didn't expect to get what I'd find at a 99 cent store either. Because of how cheap the material for these handles is, the knives are completely out of balance. I do not recommend anyone buy these until they get their act together.
