Great for Clay!
I bought this embossed rolling pin (named Style 7) for texture on my clay hand-built items. I thinks it’s more affordable than other textured rolling pins on the market and it worked great as you can see from my example butter dish picture! The design shows up very well when applying pressure directly to the barrel of the rolling pin itself rather than the side handles. Just make sure the clay isn’t too wet or use some cornstarch so it doesn’t stick - I had very little to no issue with this. The one thing I found a little odd is there are tiny snowflakes in the design when the overall theme seems floral & filigree, but it’s hard tell without really looking. Overall very happy with it and will be using it a lot in my work!

Well made - beautiful carvings
These make beautiful cookies. Beautiful carvings, easy to use. We made shortbread and ginger cookies in our first outing. Tradition (and memories) made!

so pretty
The design is very subtle on fried things but I will be testing it on baked goods very soon So hopefully it works better!

Nice designs.
Very nice designs. But not carved as deeply as I hoped. Using for speculoos cookies. Be sure to dust with cornstarch before rolling.

Smaller than expected.
The designs are smaller than I anticipated. And they aren’t that deeply engraved. You have to press really hard and even so, it doesn’t show up well on the cookie dough. The handles don’t spin so my dough got skewed a few times and had to redo it.

Good size for the cookies.
Beautiful images and the score lines aren't appropriate size for the cookies to bake well.

Only a decorative piece of clutter
The ad says it’s a working rolling pin, but it is much too small to make cookies with—unless you want pretty cookies about the size of your thumbnail. So it is worse than not having it, because it just takes up space and reminded me every time I glance at it before I threw it away what a waste it was.Besides, a friend in public health took one look at it and said there was good reason to suspect that the unidentified brown dye in the grooves would be toxic and stick to cookies if you did try to make with it.
