This is a hand-printed Cyanotype of an original photograph I took on a trip to New Orleans. Cyanotypes are created by carefully painting the paper with a solution of Potassium Ferricyanide and Ammonium Iron III Citrate. The negative is applied and the paper is exposed under an ultraviolet lamp. Once exposed, the paper is washed and allowed to dry for 24 hours where the finished print takes on the wonderful deep blue color. Please note, these prints are handmade and each one will be different. There may slight blemishes such as spots and discolorations, but these all add to the unique charm of such a traditional photography technique.
