This is definitely an upgrade to the standard stones packaged with the Made in China EdgePro knock off. Diamond stone is supposed to last a loooooong time. That is yet to be proven with this stone but so far I am happy I bought it.Update 4/26/2017. I tried it out tonight on my knife and the result was awesome. It sharpened the knife about ten times as fast as the regular Ruixin stones packaged with the sharpener. The cut was very smooth despite of the grade rating at 500. I did the final sharpening with the regular 1500 stone and honed it to final status. After the sharpening was done, I washed the diamond stone with plain water in a flash. With the regular stone I'd have to use soapy water to really clean it. I am very happy with this diamond stone.Update 5/16/2017. I used it again today. When I took it out of the box I found the stone have several brown rust marks due to moisture left over from the previous washing on 4/26/2017. It looks ugly but still worked good. However, I noticed a degrade in the stone sharpness after this second use. Thus far I have used the stone to sharpen four kitchen knives ranging from 3" to 6" blades. I am surprised that the stone has lost it sharpness that fast given that it is diamond. Well, time will tell of its durability. I will update again in the future.
