Gold Standard for Spring Tying
This is the best twine for upholsterers to use for spring tying. It’s the right combination to help you get the job done- you will still need to hold spring down while you te of course. This all is enough to get the job done - chair to loveseat and couch. Probably enough for a creamy project as well!I am ready to retie my inherited Eastlake settee as I am tied of the “sag”….

Not a full pound
I ordered 2 one pound balls. One weighed a pound and the other 14oz. It was obvious from the difference in sizes.

Proper tools for an easier job!
The first time I tried retying the springs on my couch I used some nylon or polyester 550 cord-type stuff from Lowe's. Not only did I not know what I was doing but it was stretchy. Where I ran out I used regular jute twine which was hard on my fingers and didn't hold. This stuff is great! It's waxed but not waxy. When you twist it around itself it holds so even though you still want to hold it less effort is needed to keep it from slipping. I've also had to take nails out and it didn't tear. I'm cutting it close on having enough to finish but am going to buy another ball to do some plant hangers.

Strong, Smooth. Did the job well.
This twine was purchased to reinforce and rejuvenate the metal zig-zag springs on a sofa. The twine is very strong and easy to work with and the results were more than satisfactory. The outer surface of the twine is relatively smooth and is much easier on your fingers than less expensive twine.I could not possibly have tied the hundreds of knots with gloves on; I had to go bareback.Yes, my finger tips were screaming in agony at the end of the project but without this particular twine, it would have been a bloody mess.

Would order again
I used the twine to tie the springs in a antique slipper chair. Very good quality and received it within two day of ordering it.

You get what you pay for!
The right twine for retying the springs in a couple of chairs. Don't substitute any other. These will last another 75 years.

Excellent Twine - BUT
This twine is great and it does a better job than cotton or synthetic. The issue is the way it's bundled - once you start using it the ball comes apart because it's rolled way too loose, and you're left with a lot of twine and can't find the beginning or end so you wind up cutting off pieces from the center. Otherwise, the twine itself is great.
