Works for skunks
I had a mom skunk and two babies living somewhere on my property as I saw them nearly everyday for two weeks. I called the local wildlife company and they were going to charge $100 for every trapped animal and then euthanize them - which I didn’t feel right about. So I bought two packs of these and spread them around, about every 30 ft or so wherever I thought they might hide. That was two weeks ago and I haven’t seen a skunk since!

Didn't work at all
I bought this rodent repellent in November and put 4 of these in my 21 foot boat for storage during the winter. When I opened the cover I could still smell the moth ball smell very strong. The balls were only slightly deterated BUT there was mouse poop everywhere. It took me 4 hours to clean the mess. I found a nest in the back. There was a ball in that area. Seems like they like the smell of these. I've never had a problem like this before. At the end of the previous winter I had found a few droppings in the front. This is why I used the repellent.Don't waste your money.

Balls made me feel like I had the flu.
The balls smell like moth balls very strongly. We put them out the week of Christmas and immediately worried about the smell for Xmas day, hoping it would dissipate. I started to feel bad by that night, Like I was coming down with the flu, stuffy, itchy burny eyes, lethargic, over all unwell. Tried to take care of myself, fluids, rest etc. it got worse but I noticed I felt better away from house or locked away in my bedroom. Thought maybe it was the balls. It was, we removed them, and I felt great the very next day. We had them out about 4 days the smell never dissipated while the balls were out, They might work we don't know, not worth feeling that ill. We'll find another way to keep the mice away.

Repellent
I hung one of these over my bird feeder with a plastic bag over it to keep the rain off of it and the squirrels don't get back on it either. I left the bottom open and it was a sandwich bag

Works like a charm and lasts.
I ordered these for the first time about eight months prior to writing this. I was trapping 3 to 5 mice per week in my basement. I put a few of these at the foot of my ground level basement door where the mice are squeezing through. Since the time the repellents have been placed, only one mouse has dared to enter. The repellents have lasted since then. I just bought a replacement pack.

Mothballs?
Upon opening the package my immediate thought was - oh crap did I accidentally order mothballs? So I checked the package ingredients and the item in the listing. I do not smell peppermint, rosemary, cloves etc. I instead smell mothballs just like grandma used in her basement years ago. I bought these for my garden to keep the squirrels from digging up out newly planted flowers, herbs and vegetables. However, I’m in a quandary as to what to do…. Do I trust the ingredient label and use them around things I plan to ingest or do I send the box back and trust my nose. Any other comments would be helpful, I’d like for a chemist savvy person to test these out!
