*Updated*Fantastic customer service. They company reached out to me and sent me a replacement. This seems to be fine, no strange noises and everything works properly. The original unit must have had a defect. I would purchase a product from this seller again because of their great customer service.--Original--It works fine, but now I noticed a hissing noise coming from it. It only occurs when plugged into my MacBook pro's power source (thereby passing power to my MacBook Pro (2017 Touch bar). I am afraid that something is going to eventually happen to this component. Otherwise, it seems to be working ok providing USB and Ethernet.

Had high hopes for this dock, but was concerned when I opened the shipping bag and found that the seals on the box were broken. I was worried that maybe this was a returned unit, but decided to try it anyway.Unfortunately the dock did not work with my brand new 2017 MacBook Pro. When I plugged it in, it seemed to work for a few minutes, but then I got an error notification about a USB device taking too much power. After that my machine completely froze. I had to power cycle it.Tried again and got the same result. This time I noticed a clicking sound coming from the unit near where the power plug is located. I assume that my unit is broken with some sort problem passing power from the power adaptor to my laptop.I returned this defective product and will find another dock instead.

To be honest, I didn't expect the product to be big. It didn't look like it would be bigger than I thought it would be!A bit rather thick and chunky, but it works well and its cord is strong. The only thing missing I would love to see on it is the support for SD / Micro SD card. The color matches space gray macbook [pro] nicely. If you might not want it if you are into portable size. The overall quality seems to be well made.Update: It somewhat works.Problems with reading SD card on Macbook.

I rarely write reviews, but I'm unhappy with this purchase. I have owned this product for two months, and where it once worked great, now it's "finnicky". When I connect devices, I frequently get a warning that it is drawing too much power and must be disabled. My wired Apple USB keyboard no longer connects with the device--I have to plug it directly into the MacBook Pro with a UsbC adapter. HDMI sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, but even when it does, the screen will occasionally flicker and turn on and off. I can't rely on this adapter for work anymore, and am purchasing an Anker device, because it's a brand name that I trust. I'm outside of the return period at this point, although there is a warranty--I'd rather just throw it away--I can't trust it.

This functions, but when I used it as a docking station for my Thinkpad laptop (providing power, ethernet, and multiple USB connections) my ThinkPad battery protection circuit breaker would keep tripping! I still use it for USB and Ethernet, but stopped running the computer power through it. Fortunately my computer has 2 USB3.1 connectors, otherwise I would have sent this back.

It works well for the most part but it seems like I have to really press the plug into my machine to get it to recognize my attached devices. Otherwise, it works great.Updated 12/16/2017Well, this stopped working for devices that need a little more power like an external keyboard. The power passthrough works, but if my peripherals don't, the product doesn't work at all for me.

I gave one for lack of support. It looks great as a product on paper, but ıt keeps giving error messages when connected to my MacBook Pro 2017. I get "USB Accessories disabled. Unplug the accessory using too much power to reenable USB device" message. Contacted Paxcess support by e-mail twice (no phone number listed) no response so far for a product under warranty. They are in China, too much of a distance, even for email I guess:) I don't understand why Amazon sells these products from Chinese companies with no support phone or responsiveness to solve the problem. This provides all the ports I need to use my old peripherals with my newish 13-inch MacBook that has only USB-C ports.The Ethernet port stopped working, I think due to an OS X operating system update, but the vendor sent me a driver update and it's working again.

Overall this works really well on my MacBook Pro, both in MacOS and in Windows 10 (Bootcamp). All aspects (ethernet, HDMI, USB) work flawlessly. The only issue I have experienced is using the Pass-Through USB-C for power. If I have the MacBook powered using Pass-Through from this hub, the Hub tends to re-initialise on occasions, disconnecting the external monitor and USB devices for a few seconds. If the power is connected directly to the MacBook, this never occurs. As I say, for the price compared to other USB-C hubs with this functionality, it's a good device.

This hub has been brilliant from the get-goRuns my 4K display nicely for code development etc, only 30Hz so if you are a serious gamer you might find some display lag.USBs and charging port along with the network LAN adapter just make it a wonderful tool to have in the laptop bag and on the desk at work

This has got to be the best Macbook adapter you can find for the price you are paying for. Not only does it have such an excellent design the ports are perfectly placed for all your needs. Can't ask for anymore for just $20.

it doesn't work for Windows, and PCs, it ONLY works for Macs, so if you want to buy it for PC, think twice. Big dissapointment!

Big disappointment. Product works OK for connections to USB devices and a HDMI monitor, but it does not allow pass through charging for Dell XPS 13 laptop. The description of the product clearly states that it is compatible with this laptop and provides this feature.
