I can’t say enough good things about this leather leash. We live in New Hampshire and hike daily with our 100 lb, 6 year old German shepherd who loves hiking through the forest for her daily exercise. We have always used an expensive nylon based 6 foot leash and thought we would try this this for the extra length. We absolutely love this leather leash. It feels so comfortable in our hand and the extra length gives Zola more room to explore. I can’t believe we found something so nice at this price and it’s strong/sturdy enough when she sees other dogs and starts pulling. I really love how buttery and good it feels in our hands. We’ve had it for over 6 months now and will weatherproof the leather again. It may not give Zola exactly 10 feet total but she loves the extra length too!

I wanted a longer leash for walking my dog. A six-foot leash can be awkward while walking a large and tall dog. It requires a lot of criss-crossing if you have a dog that likes sniffing and you allow freedom of movement. It is a nice, soft leash. It doesn't come stiff and sharp-edged like some I've seen. Mine measured 111.75 inches (9.3 feet) with the braiding and not counting the clasp.So far I like it very much. It has been wet and it is easy to clean. I have doggie bags and hand sanitizer clasped to the handle. It's a great purchase. I hardly ever use the six-foot nylon leash any more. For about twenty-two dollars, it is a bargain.

I will preface my review with the fact that this lead is being used for an 85lb Malamute/Husky who's main goal in life is to see and smell everything and run everywhere in order to achieve it. He has taken me grass surfing on more than one occasion, regular collar, choke chain, or no pull harness, with human dangling on behind be damned! And I am by no means a lightweight willowy waif. So to say I need a strong, longer lead that has a good width that is easy to grip and that will not burn the skin off my hands is obvious.Other than the actual *finished* length, this lead meets all my qualifications and exceeds my expectations. Regarding the length: it probably began as a 10ft strip of leather but became about 18 inches shorter once the braiding for the snap and hand loop were completed.The leather is a good weight and width and is soft in the hand. I imagine after a couple of cleanings and oilings/conditionings this lead will be soft as butter.This would definitely be too much lead for a medium/small, small, or toy sized dog as it is heavy. I have not noticed too much "stretch" other than at the braids, which I expected. And believe me, my huskamute? malamusky? has given it his best as I continue to work on his training.4.5 stars due to actual length not being 10 ft. Regardless, I would and have recommended this lead to all who have asked about it.

Had to seal it in a baggie with a dryer sheet and it still smells.

When purchasing this I was skeptical if it would be a good item or one of those well you get what you paid for, cheap is cheap...well happy to report that this leash is fantastic! It is not super stiff but not super soft but I expect as it is used it will break in more. It is very comfortable in my hand and the clasp seems to be of great quality too. We use this one for nose work and are very happy so far! Would NOT hesitate to buy again.

I absolutely LOVE this leash!! It's as soft as butter, yet it's strong enough for my 54 lb lab-mix dog. It's so comfortable. ... I had ordered a different leash before this one, from a different website and different manufacturer, and it was awful -- so stiff and uncomfortable. This one is a thousand times better!! Highly recommend.

The gold clasp is not as pictured in the product detail. A little disappointed that what you see isn’t quite what you get. I really liked the design of the clasp in the photo so was disappointed to receive a generic design. Otherwise the leather is nice.

Great for what it cost

Had a 6ft one and loved it so much I had to get the 10ft one as well. Quality product.
