Rugged, great fit, solid boot
I have had many brands of boots over the years and most do not last a year for me. We have 20 forested acres and are building a small personal farm on it. I work my boots very hard mud, ice, snow, rain, logging, construction, road work, animal husbandry, etc. I do NOT have the budget to buy $700 custom boots but still need boots to last more then a year and not break the bank. I had narrowed my choice down to several $200-ish boots Timberland, Merrell, Georgia, and a few others. These Irish Setters Trailblazers were very high on the list. I wear a 11.5 Wide and it sometimes is hard to find that size, but the Trailblazers offers it. When my size was on a sale I decided to buy a pair. The sale was so good I decided to buy a second pair the next day, sight unseen. When the first pair arrived I put them on right away and they were ever so slightly snug, but I wore them around the house for 2 days and BOOM they fit like a glove. The second pair arrived and I did the same with those same result, fits like a glove. I tested the first pair out in the mud and snow we still have here over the past weeks and they grip very well and my feet stayed very dry. These boots are very solid and sturdy and I assume they will be able to last me easily more then a year. If I ever wear these two pair out I will search high and low to buy another pair! Or since they are true "Goodyear Welt Construction" have them rebuilt.

Best value work boot for the money!
I work as a general contractor in the Pacific Northwest. Outside all day and almost always wet, cold and muddy. After decades of trying work boots that not only can take the wear and tear but also provide awesome support (I broke both feet bones in an ATV accident), they are always dry and warm AND they good great! These boots aren’t cheap, but they’re made in USofA and I only need one pair a year. They are more comfortable than a comparable pair of expensive European hiking boots. I now have a new pair in my closet all the time.

Great boots
Great boot, especially for the sale price. Not gonna lie I’m a little partial to Irish Setters but I also buy Rocky’s also. Very comfortable from the start. A little stiff at first but literally after walking into and out of work they were already breaking in. Ordering another pair while they’re on sale.

Irish Setter boots are INDEED made by RedWing!
I am a construction professional and RedWing consumer who is trying Irish Setter (also by RedWing) for the first time. I have had these boots for over a month, and I have to tell you I was initially skeptical that these boots would have the same comfort, fit and build quality as my trusty four-year-old RedWing (non Irish Setter) boots when I got them new. Let me tell you, these boots are COMFORTABLE, are true to size and are made to the same standards as my old RedWing boots that were about twice the price at the time I got them. Now, I did get these Irish Setters from Amazon on sale (which was about $60 cheaper than buying direct from RedWing), but these are every bit as good as my $300 RedWing boots and I expect to get the same life from them. A bonus was these boots took virtually no time to break-in, while my old RedWings took about a week or so.A word of caution: My boots arrived MUCH darker than the medium brown shown in the photo. They actually appeared to be black fresh out of the box. However, they were wrapped in wax paper (nice touch) to keep the oil treatment received at the factory from bleeding through the box. Over the past few weeks, they have lightened in color to a dark chocolate (which, oddly enough was the color I really wanted in other boots I were considering). I anticipate they will lighten another shade or two before settling into their final color; but if yours turn out like mine, they will NOT be the medium brown shown.All-in-all, this discerning consumer believes this is an excellent boot that will get years of wear. If not, I will be certain to provide an update to this review.

Irish Setter Boots
Good fit. I typically wear a wide but these are the normal 13 and fit great. A little heavy but are very comfortable and look great.

Good boot but laces are a bit short and wide isn’t very wide
Too early to comment on longevity but they are nice boots. Con’s are laces area bit short and the wide width isn’t very wide. I normally wear 11EE and bought 11.5 EE based on reviews. They were still snug in width

Don't follow sellers advice for large sizes of these well-made boots
Size 14 is size 14, unlike what the seller displays when you select that size: "13 will fit you best based on data from customers who buy the same sizes as you." In fact, during the first month this very well made boot has been a bit snug (wearing Dickies crew socks), but I expect it will break-in just right within months.I've been wearing size 14 Irish Setters since 1966 (moc-toe, green kangaroo uppers). Also since then, I've also been size 14 for Danner boots and L L Bean boots. It's hard to believe you can still get a Goodyear welt at this price. And the aggressive tread is just right. Quite happy first impression all-round.EDIT ADDITION:After 9 months these boots are holding up superbly to temperate rainforest conditions, but they have not broken in as easily as similar Irish Setters, likely due to their heavy duty leather and construction. I find Fiebing's Liquid Mink Oil helps for de-stiffening the boots, as well as for insuring sustained waterproofing at seams.
