Very precise knife
I got this knife as a gift. I am the type of person who likes to be able to maintain my tools, so I was wary of this knife as there is absolutely NO way to disassemble it for cleaning, parts replacement, etc. However with use I don't worry about that anymore. It's super sharp out of the box, and has a VERY precise fit and finish. I measured the clearance between the frame and the blade to be EXACTLY .005" all the way around. That's tight enough that I don't worry about particles worming their way in there. We'll see how it holds up but for now this is a GREAT edc option.

Spyderco Uptern Non Locking pocket knife
This says in is non-locking, however, when you open it, it does lock open. Perfectly fine with my husband, who uses it, just be aware that you do have to push button to unlock, and close. It's not a high end Spyderco, but for his purposes outside, if another person walks away with his knife, it's easy to replace. Appears to cut fine. Time will tell how long, but he is great at sharpening knives when necessary

er . . . Good knife. Questionable Vendor .
Having sent the automated question answering software here on Amazon into a terminal loop from which I could only extricate myself by restarting my computer I figured next best would be to ask the question here : Pray . . . tell . . . and I quote, what does"Non-locking" "lock back format"actually mean ? Having bought over a hundred Spydercos I've not run across that one before.I ran it through my BS detector and it came up with : don't buy a knife from this vendor.Generally, from my personal experience, I can recommend Spyderco knives without reservation from the inexpensive ones all the way up to and even including the ones costing many hundreds of dollars so buy with confidence is my advice.: )
