A roller coaster edge-of-your-seat adventure!
Wow. Davis Lavender is an author to follow. I read several hundred books a year and this is most certainly one of the best. A fascinating story combined with a kick-ass writing style made it impossible for me to put the book down. The story takes place in Ireland. Devin and his good friend Bren are best friends who make a living as street musicians. Devin, who lost his parents when he was a young teen appears to have some mysterious special powers and unknowingly summons three ancient Irish gods through his music. As the story unfolds, secrets are revealed which culminate in a spectacular happy-for-now ending with a bit of a cliffhanger. The next volume is due before summer of 2020.Ms. Lavender is a master storyteller and weaves her wicked sense of humor throughout a story which had me crying, laughing, and ultimately feeling good in my heart. It’s rare an author is able to pull that off. If you enjoy a paranormal story with moody and pouty gods then you will love this book. Can’t wait for the next. Kudos to Ms. Lavender for reminding me why I love to read.

Very close to perfection!
Actual rating 4.5 rounded up to 5Would have rated this a complete 5 if only a slightly better job had been done with the editing/proofreading. On the story and characters this is a solid 5/5. Wow! Absolutely loved this cast of characters and the setting in Ireland. I have never been to Ireland but after reading this book I can almost smell the salt air and see the rolling green hills. On to book 2!

All right
This book had the potential to be a great book, harnessing Irish mythology, but I felt that it fell flat. I really wanted to like Devin, but he is too tempermental, aand selfish. He leaves his friend, Bren, hanging and disappears for weeks at a time in one instance when he stays with the storm gods, without even giving word that he is fine! The sex scenes are sudden, without any reason for them to happen, just that they do, making them feel false. They are just thrown in there for the sake of having sex in the book, no real passion. The ending was a bit of a surprise that I did not expect, so that was nice. I would like to know what happens, but not sure if I want to go through another story like this one. I wish the story was more fluid. Things happen in a chopped, pasted together manner.

Great unpredictable and worth it 100%
This book was such a new and different take on the gods and mortals story line. The characters aren't perfect, and you do want to shake them sometimes. That's what makes this series great. It is definitely not tbe cookie cutter predictable hea story. Mistakes are made, the relationships are messy and almost impossible, but that's what makes it enjoyable to read. After hundreds of books where they meat, call into insta-lovd and live happily ever, it is nice to see them have to work for it!
