I bought this brand new for almost $300. It was used less than two weeks while my mom was battling pancreatic cancer with the Gerson Therapy. It comes in original box and includes all original parts and accessories, most of which have never even been touched.

Satisfied with the Samson Advanced
Well, this is the first one I've purchased, however I've used several different kinds in tryouts.I must say I am Impressed. The only CON is that it has a small chute so you have to cut up everything. But It's worth the time. I made my own V8 (a full quart) and Dr. Oz's Green Drink in under an hour. I was impressed at how dry the pulp came out. It was as dry as an expensive 2 Gear. And unlike other Masticating or Centrifuge juicers, when running the pulp through a second time, I got maybe a drop or two of Juice. Don't have to do that messy job twice.I cut up a carrot and dropped the pieces in the chute and it juiced them while I cut up the next carrot. The only time I had to use the Food Pusher was with the lettuces, Parsley, and Spinach.I short cutted the V8 because I know that V8 is 87% Tomato Juice from concentrate (a.k.a. Tomato Paste). My V8 Loving Mother couldn't tell the difference, even though the only sodium in mine came from the celery and vegies.Cleaned it in under 3 minutes. Didn't have to whack it either (See below about the Manual)Beginning to end, using the other machines, it took the same amount of time, just the work was different. And, My V8 and Dr. Oz's Green Drink taste better, and yielded nearly 40% more juice. The pulp got mixed into my Vegetable and Herb Gardens soil. (The worms are having a field day!)I recommend this juicer for the Novice that want's inexpensive, but not cheap. And definitely for Avid Juicer's! Samson "Advanced" Multi-Purpose Wheatgrass Juicer - BLACK The Manual, on the other hand, contains deplorable 'Engrish', Contradictions to specifications, Omissions, and Confusion. On Page 7 it states "This is for 120 Volt system only, make sure to use a converter if using on a 220 Volt system," while on Page 13 Under Specifications it shows "120V/220v 50Hz/60Hz." Which is it? Only 110 or 110 and 220? In the juicing guide it tells you to set the nozzle to position 0,1,2,3, but it nowhere does it tell you where this is or what the numbers mean. I had to look at the pieces closely to see the numbers embossed on the Auger cover with a little arrow on the nozzle. Experimentation shows 0 means very juicy pulp and 3 means very dry Pulp More particulate foam for the screen on the juice container to catch. The manual tells you to not use force, but in a tips section it shows 2 pictures (without caption) with a little mallet and a Screw driver on either side of the Juicer assembly Locking ring on the Motor. ??? Use no force but now you're showing me how to Whack It?!In the recipes they tell of Peanut Soup and Pumpkin Soup. They show and tell you how to make Peanut Soup, but not a word is said how to make Pumpkin Soup. I Love Pumpkin Soup (especially with a Great Blue Pumpkin)and I know how to make it. It's a completely different process than Peanut Soup. In another they say "Make a Dough." This is for Steamed dumplings. So I use WHAT to "Make a Dough?" It appears the Manual was written for Koreans and translated (poorly), and for a previous model. The warranty page is for the previous model (10/5 warranty). It does come with a printer piece of paper saying the manual warranty information was not updated to 15/15 warranty and tells you you have to register within 90 days of purchase. However the warranty registration page states in eloquent 'Engrish' that you don't need to register as long as you have your receipt. ???OH, and it tells you what the other nozzles are for, but nowhere does it tell you HOW!?! Uh, wait, it does mention Noodle making in the Recipes.Oh, the spare fuse is taped into slot in the bottom of the motor housing. OK. How do I change it.I'll update this if any problems arise. I don't they will though.Cheers,BuBu

Very good wheatgrass juicer at an affordable price.
Juicing Wheatgrass is known to have a number of benefits, one of which is the 70% chlorophyll content…and its a important blood builder. To get the most out of wheatgrass you’ll have to drink it fresh and the best way to do that is extracting your own.The Samson 9005 is one of the best juicers for the job, in tests done by John Kohler. The 9005 was more efficient in extracting juice from wheatgrass compared to the Omega 8006 and you can use it to extract juice from other vegetables and fruit as well. This beats buying a dedicated wheatgrass juicer that has only one purpose.A Quick LookPower: 160 wattsHeight: 15″Warranty: 15 yrs.BPA Free: YesRPM: 80Feed Chute: 1.5″PriceThe good:Great on wheat grass and other leafy greensVery good yieldLong 15 year warrantyNo pre-cutting needed on fibrous greensUses an Ultem strainer and augerEasy to cleanThe Bad:Produces a pulpy juiceNot self feedingStruggles with soft fruit like pineappleFeatures of the Samson 9005Take note that the 9003, 9004, 9005 and 9006 are basically the same machine, the only difference is color.Even this is labelled as a “Wheatgrass Juicer” it is more than just. This type of juicer works great on leafy greens and it comes with a blank plate attachment that allows this machine to crank out nut butter or almond milk, just in case you like to make your own. This will work best on……Wheatgrass and other leafy green vegetables like celery or collard greens. If you often juice wheatgrass and want an electric juicer to do the job, this is the juicer you want because it is efficient at juicing wheatgrass. One reason is the adjustable end cap that allows you to adjust the amount of backpressure thus increasing yield.John Kohlers makes green juice with the Samson 9005 (check his YouTube videos for Samson wheatgrass juicers )More than just a juicerIt comes with a blank plate that will help make peanut butter, sorbets, baby food, grind coffee, salsa and much more. The package also includes 5 drum caps that can extrude pasta. This is a versatile machine. How long can you store juice?Since the auger rotates only at 80 rpm, very minimal air is introduced to the juice so that means you can store it at least 2 or 3 days without degradation but you need to refrigerate it. For best results, store it in a mason jar, overfilled so no air is mixed in with the liquid. How much juice can it extract?Even though it is only a single stage juicer, it will hold its own in terms of yield.Part of the reason is that it has an adjustable end cap that allows you to adjust the backpressure that squeezes more juice out and leaves a drier pulp.John Kohler compares the Omega 8006 and the 9005 juicing carrotsBoth machines yielded roughly the same amount of juice which is impressive because the 8006 is a dual stage juicer which in theory should yield more but this wasn’t the case in this juice off.John Kohler compares the Samson 9006 and Green Power KPE-1304 juicing carrots and wheatgrassWhile the Green Power KPE-1304 yielded 100 cc more than the 9006, you have to remember that the former has two gears that generally gets better yield at the expense of harder assembly and disassembly plus these types of juicers are more expensive. How much preparation is needed?Since it only has a small 1.5” round feed chute, produce such as apples, pineapple, beet and cucumber have to be pre-cut to fit in but for leafy greens like chard or celery there is no need to pre-cut. So if you’re juicing mostly green leafy stuff, this is a great choice. Is it hard to clean up?It has only a few moving parts that needs to be cleaned and it is very easy to assemble and disassemble so this is something that’s easy to clean. It’ll take less than five minutes to clean under running water. The hardest part to clean would be the juicing screen but it comes with a cleaning brush that helps in removing pulp from there. Is it dishwasher safe?Unfortunately it is not but washing this by hand will not take too long. What type of juicer is this? This is called a single stage, single auger style juicer.Single stage juicers typically crush juice in one area unlike dual stage juicers that do that in two separate areas. One for the initial crush and the next one at the end of the auger where tries to squeeze every ounce of juice from the pulp.Single stage juices typically yield less juice than dual stage juicers but the 9006 is an exception because it has a large screen with a lot of surface area. This means more yield than a typically single stage juicer. How long is the warranty? It comes with a 15 year warranty on the whole juicer. Is it BPA free?Samson confirms that it is BPA free.NoiseSince this rotates at only 80 rpm, this is not noisy at all. If fact you can juice early in the morning without worrying about waking up your neighbours or baby.If you juice stuff like wheatgrass, there will be some squeaking but don’t worry about it, it’s just the friction between the auger and wheatgrass.VoltageIt is only available in 120 volts (60Hz) and has a 3 pronged outlet for North American customers. If you live outside North America and want to purchase this, you’ll need an adapter plus an automatic voltage regulator to be able to use this safely.MotorIt uses 1/3 HP, single stage induction motor that is rated at 160 watts. The motor spins at 1750 rpm and the gear reduction system reduces it to 80rpm at the auger. It produces 1.5 HP of squeezing power according to Samson.Dimension7” x 15” x 12” (width x height x depth)Weighs around 14.65 poundsAvailable ColorsAvailable in Chrome, Ivory, White and Black. I purchase the black one.The Product specifications are:Model 9005Feed chute size and shape Circular1.5" in diameterRPM(revolutions per minute) 80Ultem auger -YesUltem strainer -YesBlank plate attachment -YesSieve/strainerType: Horizontal auger juicerDoes it:Juice vegetables?Juice fruits?Cant it make nut butter? Can it make sorbet? Can it grind coffee? Can it process food?YES to all above questions.Warranty 15 years on the whole juicerVoltage 110-volts3-prongedMotor 1/3 HP single induction motor that produces 1.5 HP of squeezing power160 wattsThe Package includesMotor baseUltem augerUltem strainerDrumDrum capJuicing screenMincing coneJuice catcherPulp catcherStrainerCleaning brushPusherJuice nozzleMincing nozzle2 noodle nozzles2 pasta nozzlesInstruction manual plus recipesDVDExtra fuseWhere is this manufactured? It is made in South Korea.Consumer RatingConsumers in Amazon and other online stores were generally happy with its performance, they said it was easy to use and clean plus it juiced leafy greens pretty well. They also loved that it can extrude pasta, mad nut butter and sorbets! This is by no means a one trick pony.I noticed that a number of consumers who bought this, juiced wheatgrass and they were satisfied with the yield and how easy it was to use.Remember when juicing wheatgrass, don’t put in a large stack or it’ll clog the machine but put in little by little as demonstrated by John Kohler in a YouTube video demonstration.A few consumers complained about leaking but it was refuted by another consumer – he said that the juicing body has to be properly attached so that it seals properly. There were also complaints about lack of yield when juicing wheatgrass but if you watch a YouTube video concerning this juicer (Samson wheatgrass juicer 9005), this does not seem to be an issue. The price in Amazon, Samson Juicers’ store and Discount Juicers are the same. $259.If you’re buying this, get it from one of these 3 online stores to get the full 15 year warranty.ConclusionThis juicer would be great for people who regularly drink wheatgrass juice. Heck, it is advertised to be a wheatgrass juicer.Yield will be up to par with the bestselling Omega 8006 juicer and very close to a twin gear juicer like the Green Power KPE-1304.The great part about this – it’s more than a wheatgrass juicer. You can juice other produce like celery, various leafy greens and fruit.Though it will struggle juicing softer fruit like orange or pineapple, when used properly it will do the job.It won’t be as fast as a centrifugal juicer but the juice quality more than makes up for the slowness, remember this is a slow juicer. It comes with a 15 year warranty on the whole juicer so there are no worries in terms of the owning this product long term because if anything breaks within the warranty period, Samson’s got you covered. This is a 5 star wheat juicer and I'm giving this product a strong recommendation to buy.****** If you enjoyed my review please vote this review as helpful and feel free to ask me any additional questions and I'll answer them to the best of my abilities ******

Excellent Quality and 15 Year Warranty
This is a masticating slow juicer with 80 rpm speed. It produces one of the best juices from wheatgrass and leafy greens, as well as doing a great carrot, cucumber etc. extraction. The quality is very high as demonstrated by the 15 year warranty, the highest in the industry. This single auger design is very quick and easy to clean, quicker than the cheap and noisy centrifugal juicers that are not any use for serious juicers. This juicer would be great for following Gerson Therapy and serious juicing-for-health raw foodists. The quality is easy to see and I am very happy. The auger is the redesigned Titan one with a stainless steel insert where the grinding takes place. This juicer is very quiet and powerful..it makes a beautiful ice cream from frozen bananas so obviously it can take a lot of abuse. A top pick for someone who wants to be able to juice leafy greens and get a good yield. The yield here is far higher than a centrifugal juicer and so with expensive organic vegetables you don't get much waste. Even if you squeeze the pulp with a Welles Press after extraction the pulp yields very little extra juice, therefore the pulp is very dry.

Adequate quality.
Adequate functioning. After 3 years the unit works relatively well. Easy cleanup and reassembly. Two drawbacks :1. The scoop has had to be reordered a few times because it breaks at the plastic reinforced tip.2. The plastic juice cups become opaque and discolored through the reaction with products like ginger.

Pulp / fibre is super dry (juice was squeezedd out as presented)
Does the job well, you need to cut the veggies/ fruits in quite small chunks to fit into. Is not that “easy” to clean especially if you are in rush to work or tired when back from work (I used it mostly in weekends). I does separate the pulp from juice...if you look for a mix of pulp and juice this is not for you... use a blender instead. Pulp / fibre is super dry (juice was squeezedd out as presented) .
