A must read for any Kindergarten teacher!
Eva C.Phillips and Amy Scrinzi have written a clear, concise, user friendly book on developmentally appropriate practice for kindergarten. This is a perfect book for anyone studying to become a kindergarten teacher as it gives clear examples and describes the why and how's of creating a rich learning environment for students. I especially like how they may touch on a point in one chapter but inform you that it is more fully explained later in the book. They explain everything and don't assume you already know. From what is developmentally appropriate to how to involve parents, all aspects of kindergarten are addressed. For the veteran Kindergarten teacher, you're going to love this book. It will remind you of the why's and the research behind all the great things you are doing in your classroom. Now more than ever you may be finding yourself in a position of having to explain to parents, colleagues and/or administrators why it is important for children to learn in developmentally appropriate ways. This book will help you do that. I have been a Kindergarten teacher for many years and am currently an Educational Consultant for Early Education, I highly recommend this book. Have fun reading and have fun teaching and learning with your students!
