Great for a Bible Illiterate
My son started learning Bible stories in his Christian kindergarten. I never learned any, so I bought this book for us to read together. Now we can both learn together with easy to understand, beautifully illustrated storties. Kinda like Bible Cliff Notes!

Great illustrations for all children
Great book for children. Pictures are great too. Don't have to be Jewish to enjoy it.

Good but somewhat disapointing
I expected the Bible stories to be more from a Jewish perspective. Unfortunately, much of the stories seem to have more of a Christian perspective. For example, the Ten Commandments follow the traditional Christian understanding placing "I am the L-d your G-d" in the preface and starting with "You shall have no other gods before me." There is very little use of the Hebrew names - Adam and Eve, not Adam and Chava, Esther, not Hadassah, etc. These are minor distractions, but overall I recommend this as good to read to Jewish children. The stories are short but cover a great deal of the Tenach and the illustrations are appealing. We read at least one story to our boys every night before bed and more on Shabbat.

I'm Jewish and it's one of the best books I ever read
I'm Jewish and it's one of the best books I ever read, not because I'm Jewish but because it's interesting and it's one of my favorite books. I'm nine so I think other nine year olds will like it too.

Perfect for older children
I was looking for a book that told Tanak stories to children to give as a gift for Hanukah , and this was the only one I could find. However, my child was only 2 years old and this book was way too difficult and crude for her.Nevertheless it's a very good book. The illustrations greatly complement the text, which is informative and correct.I will certainly save it for when she's older. It's a pity it's not published any more and you have to be very lucky and find vendors that still have it.

Good stories, good pictures 👍
A very good book. Great stories and pictures. Only thing is, it doesn't explain Haunaka or the scroll on the door.
