Q: What drill bit size should I use to install anchors?

A 1/4 inch drill works best for the anchors, HOWEVER: If you need this grab bar (or any grab bar) for real support and security, you need to be able to put at least 2 of the 3 screws at each end of the bar into a stud. The anchors will never provide a strong anchor. Putting a screw into a stud needs only a small pilot hole and you don't use the anchor at all. It may also be possible to angle a screw into a stud and the small pilot hole helps with that task.

Q: can it be mounted to concrete walls

No. It must go in between the tiles. It cannot go thru the tile unless a special concrete drill bit is used & even than it will be quite difficult.

Q: I need somethihng to put on an exterior door frame to help when climbing the step to the house. Will this meet my needs?

I used them to aid my wife in shower and climbing into our camper Works well You need to be sure that screws are long enough and into solid backing so they will not pull out.

Q: why can’t I get the cap off the cover that has the screw holes

Yea, they come apart but not easily. Place the stuck pieces with the large hole down on a flat surface. Place the tip of a small flat bladed screw driver through the small hall sideways and press the tip down on the inner ring. They will pop apart. No amount of pounding, twisting, cussing or breaking fingernails will work. I speak from experience.
