The media could not be loaded.  The abacus was the world's first calculator and was used in India, Asia and Europe to calculate ...I was a Maths Specialist and I like anything that children can use to visualise maths in action. There is a small booklet that gives you ideas of how to use the abacus. As you draw the counters across the frame, they change colour by spinning on the twisty wires, makes the visualisation of number and place etc even more obvious.Even if you struggled with maths at school, you shouldn't project your fear of numbers etc onto your child, you may even learn to love maths as they come home with their homework.It pays to have things you can manipulate or objects you can count etc, so that all learners are catered for.The abacus is made of plastic, it is quite thin, but this is not a toy to be left on the floor, I think it is something you will get out to help with maths etc. You could use it to teach counting.From memory as I type this I there are six activities you can do with this abacus, and the instructions are very clear, you can see these in pics 4 and 5 and a small video of how the counters change colour when moved along.Hope they help you decide whether this is for you. The media could not be loaded.  This is a quality educational toy for kids. There is full instructions that comes with it on how to use Abacus. I got it for my 4 years and 7 years old kids. They both got interested in it and been using it for match problems. Its just amazing how you can use this to do different types of math questions. Colour of beads change when you slide them over the bars; which keeps kids interested. Good educational toy to keep kids busy at home in school holidays. Product quality itself is quite good and sturdy.Ideal for gift purpose. Value for money.Hope you found this review helpful.

The media could not be loaded.  This is a brightly colored abacus which is used for counting. This abacus is slightly different as you count upwards or downwards it changes colour. This is made from a hard plastic rather than the traditional wooden ones. The counters cannot turn around due to design to enable the counters to change colour. It comes with instructions with guide on usuage and games to play. This helps develop numeracy skills, it is a good learning tool for young ones.

This is quite large so a decent size for little fingers. The different coloured and white sides are useful for teaching numbers and sums etc. It's sturdy and stands well. It is a little pricey for what it is and compared to others on the market.

It’s fantastic to have for little ones as they can learn to count, it’ll be easier for them to learn with this abacus as it’s nice and colourful.It’ll help develop basic maths skills.Can’t go wrong with buying this abacus. Nice quality abacus - great resource for early years learning settings or even just for home use.The ability to rotate each piece to change it from white to coloured and back is a nice visual feature too and makes it easier to use for maths skills for kids.

This plastic abacus is £21.84 at the time of this review.The item comes assembled, so straight out of the box, counting is possible in seconds.Construction is OK. Being plastic there isn't too much weight, so knocking the abacus over is possible. There are felt pads on the feet to help it stand.The beads move without impediment, so functionally the item works as intended.I think the price is expensive for plastic. An abacus made from sustainable wood would be preferential and a nice nod to a more classic design.

This item has been with me for such a short time that I am still breaking it in. So far these are my notes.The beads on the toy are easy for children to move and it's sturdy enough to last a long time. The toy is perfect for use in an educational area and it's also fun for children.If you turn the beads around on the rail, they will become colored on one side and white on the other. This can also be used to practice naming colors. It is easy for small hands to manipulate.Overall, I don't think the quality is great. It feels a little flimsy and not of exceptional quality.For those looking for a great way to make math fun and learning enjoyable, this abacus is the perfect purchase!I hope this is helpful
