Colored Pencils Set Marco Raffine 120 Colors in Tin Box(7100-120TN), 2B Hardness, 3.2mm CoreSeveral years ago, I had a smaller set of 36 or 48 Marco Raffine colored pencils. I gave them to my daughter & used them the other day when i was visiting her. I'd forgotten how nice they were & thought I might get a set for myself. I saw the 120 set with one left & decided to buy it. This set includes pastel colors.The colors are rich, aren't scratchy & lay down smoothly. I'd say they are a medium hardness, the lead/core doesn't break easily & they hold a point.I was having trouble laying down color when I was swatching them...I read that some colored pencils are shipped with a coating on the core to protect the lead from breaking during shipping - it's best to sharpen them before coloring with them. This was the first time I sharpened pencils first before swatching...and it made all the difference. The colors layed down beautifully after sharpening.I uploaded my swatch sheet & a grayscale picture colored with pencils from this set. Both were printed on the smooth side of Neenah Bristol Velum 67 lb paper.The picture was created by Geoff Gilmore of Ozycolor Fbk.
