Curious George Storybook Collection (CGTV)

I bought this book for my 5 year old brother who is in kinder and learning to read. He is a big fan of the show on PBS and owns several of the DVDs. When he got this book he was in loved and excited to read it every night. All the stories are based of off the show. I can say that for the price, it is really worth it! The pages are in VERY rich color and detail. There are a good number of stories that you can read over and over again as well as activities and games and stickers! I would recommend this to any parent or older sibling looking for a good book to read to their brother/sister or child.

There are 8 Curious George stories in this book and 100 stickers in the back. It has abbreviated stories and large colorful pictures in the TV/DVD graphics style. My grandson loves Curious George and wants to read the stories over and over again. Whenever he sees one of the stories in this book on TV he likes following along with the book.A hundred stickers is a lot for a 3-4 year old. If your child goes crazy with stickers, it is possible to cut out the pages of stickers in the back of the book and give them out a few at a time.

This is a great volume for Curious George lovers ages 2-6! This collection contains books based on the Curious George TV show on PBS, and the pictures have the same "cartoon" style (as opposed to the original series of books by H.A. Rey and the later series of books based on that). Both my two- and four-year old love all things Curious George! They love finding familiar characters in the volume -- Hundley, Charkie, Jumpy Squirrel, etc. These books are fairly quick reads, and like the TV show, they deliver some STEM concepts without hitting kids over the head. For example, in The Donut Delivery, Curious George learns what happens when you add 0 onto another number, and accidentally orders 100 dozen donuts instead of 1 dozen. My four year old loves science and I have really enjoyed watching Curious George pique his interest. He especially loves stories like Snowy Day where George engineers a solution to a problem with found objects. I've loved watching him go around the house collecting things so he can recreate George's inventions -- it's so great to get a kid his age excited about engineering without even realizing that he's learning.I like many of the original H.A. Rey Curious George books (particularly Curious George Goes to the Hospital and Curious George Takes a Job), but I sometimes hear parents my age express a bit of shock when they first read the original Curious George story (George is taken from the jungle against his well, smokes a pipe, gets put in jail, etc). I find the ever ubiquitous series of books based on the originals (such as Curious Goes to the Dentist, Curious George and the Dump Truck, etc) to be really formulaic and George can be more mischievous than curious. This is the one franchise where I actually prefer to read my kids the books based on the TV show! George is genuinely curious, learns about science, solves problems, etc...and the books are a little quicker and less predictable. Thumbs up from the parents and the kids here!

My two-year-old daughter loves this book and the corresponding Curious George PBS series. They're both different from the original Curious George books. These newer stories are less outdated and more educational.This book has a collection of eight stories. Each story is followed by a short activity, like a seek-and-find or a matching game. There are also several pages of stickers at the end of the book. The book is a nice length; you can read the entire book in about 20 minutes.This won't be a beloved classic for us, but it is fun and educational. My daughter and I both enjoy it!

My son absolutely loves Curious George. He is 2 1/2 and this is one of only a few shows he will sit and intently watch. I had yet to purchase any Curious George books for him so I came straight to Amazon to see what was available.After perusing a bit, I came across this book. 8 books in one definitely caught my eye. I read some reviews then made my purchase. My son and I couldn't be happier. The stories are all adaptations of episodes from the PBS series with fun activities at the end. My son absolutely loves the activities. And what child doesn't love stickers?!The illustrations are beautiful as well. There are 197 pages in this book, not including the 4 pages of stickers. This was a well thought out and well designed book. The pages themselves are nice and thick, not flimsy like so many other books.I highly recommend this book. It is a wonderful addition to any child's library. You won't be sorry you made this purchase.

Next to Rapunzel from Tangled- George is the favorite. Actually, I think he wins out btw the two of them! My 5 yr old niece love him to death, and this book is great. It has tons of stickers besides the great stories, which are perfect for bedtime reading. The colors are bright, font is large and simple for new readers, and they are very engaging stories.

I purchased this for my three year old daughter who loves books and the Curious George show on PBS. While the the illustrations in this book aren't as charming as those that my generation were accustomed to, it's the version of George she identifies with. There are eight adorable stories in this collection, each with glossy full page color CGTV illustrations and four full pages of stickers at the back. Her face just lit up when she saw the book and she hasn't wanted to put it down since. I'm equally happy with the quality and price of the book. Well worth the money!

Awesome book...Stories with smaller fonts are more.My daughter is an early reader so big fonts have been great...

Book came prisitine condition, looks like its out of the manufacturers box and right to my door. Wonderful to have a new collection for with our others but ALL different stories than the red blue and yellow collection books. A family favorite, thankyou for the lovely quality book

Ho comprato questo libro per la mia bambina di 2 anni, perché il cartone animato di George è tra i suoi preferiti.Prima di effettuare l'ordine ero un po' scettico perché il libro è in inglese, ma considerando l'età della mia bambina e visto che in italiano sulla piazza non c'è molta scelta, alla fine l'ho acquistato.Entrato in possesso del volume ogni dubbio è stato fugato: si tratta di un ottimo acquisto!La qualità della carta al tatto è eccezionale e i disegni sono superlativi.Il volume ha una forma quadrata, con la copertina rigida e 198 pagine ricchissime di disegni con splendidi colori, più 4 pagine di adesivi. Il testo in inglese a corredo delle pagine descrive brevemente la dinamica delle figure: poche righe e con carattere grande.In totale il volume è composto da 8 storie, ognuna delle quali al termine presenta una sezione di attività (quiz, giochi, indovinelli).E' un acquisto che rifarei (successivamente ho acquistato anche l'altro volume da 294 pagine) e che consiglio fortemente a chi, come me, ha bambini che adorano le storie della scimmietta George.

つい先日日本語版のアニメ おさるのジョージ の絵本を購入したところなので、てっきりあれと同じサイズのハードカバーの絵本が8冊セットになったものかと思っていましたが、届いて開けておやびっくり、大きなハードカバーのジョージの絵本がひとつだけ！ひとつの絵本に、裏表紙にあるエピソードがすべて収録されていました。(写真を参考までにあげておきます)しっかりした作りのハードカバーで8つもエピソードが入っていて、お値段以上です。おまけのシールもかわいくて母親の私がワクワクしてしまっています（笑）ですが本の重さが結構あるので小さな子供一人では見れないかな？と思います。万が一足の上なんかに落としたら大変！うちの子はもうすぐ1歳8ヶ月ですが、4,5歳ぐらいまでは一人でこの重たい絵本を持たせられないかなぁと思っています。それに一冊一冊べつべつになったジョージのハードカバーのえほん(英語版はペーパーバックのようですが、日本語版はハードカバーがでていますね)よりも1ページ1ページの紙が少し薄いような気がするので、やぶられるのも時間の問題かもしれません^^;てことで私は今保存版にもう一冊買おうかどうか迷っているところです。他の方が指摘されていた表紙の汚れやスレも特に気になるほどではありませんでした。洋書なのでこんなものでしょう。アメリカに住んでいましたが、現地の本屋さんはもっとボロボロの本が置いてあったりします（笑）小さな子供が一人で取り扱うには少々大変そうですが、8話分のエピソードがつまった息子も私も大好きなジョージ、とてもよい絵本をみつけました^_^
