After a long episode, I have a studio arm that works well and am satisfied. (Please Read)
UPDATE: I'm fully re-writing this review because I've received a replacement item, so I'll share my entire experience with you.I ordered this microphone stand in December 2017. On initial installation, the product worked well, with a couple caveats. First, the metal spring (which you can see near the middle hinge) made a scraping noise that translated into the microphone as well as was just an unappealing sound. But otherwise it held my microphone well and swiveled/adjusted fine. I left a decent 4-star review and continued to use the product.Less than a month after purchase, the item failed on me. Where the arm met the lowest hinge (near the mount), the arm completely separated, as a result of poor manufacturing. The hole was drilled at the bottom of the square bar but was so low that the metal bent and it came separated from the hinge. Not great, so I left a 2-star review as I considered returning the item. Luckily, it was during the holiday season so the return window was lengthened.Shortly after the review, the seller reached out and offered a replacement item, noting that the issue was not typical and would be fixed with a new item. I responded quickly, sharing my address and asking for the replacement. A week later, another email, with an offer for a replacement item. My messages were not getting through. Soon enough, the window closed and I hadn't received any responses to my multiple emails. I was livid. So I adjusted to one star, warning buyers not to try this product because a replacement had never come. The seller finally reached out again and still offered a replacement item. Finally, one of my reply messages went through. They were finally able to get the item to me. On close inspection, the issue was remedied. So far, 6 weeks in, the product is working fine and even the scraping is not happening. Maybe I just did get a defective product.Bottom line -- the sellers are, to their credit, responsive to reviews and attempted to remedy the situation. I feel like Amazon wasn't handling messaging properly through email, but ultimately things worked out. The product is now as advertised, and if I had received it first, I would have nothing but glowing reviews for the product. As it stands, I'll leave my original 4 star review and make sure you understand the caveat that it's possible that future products will have this defect in manufacturing. If it happens, act quickly and start the conversation. Use Amazon's built-in messaging system rather than email, and you should be ok. If you're looking for a low-budget studio arm that's a step up from the spring-based cheapo ones, this one *should* do the trick.

Expensive Junk
Rode knockoff. Mounting clamp won't hold firm on desk due to the fact that the long bolt going through it is bent at an angle. Build quality is poor and the post that holds the boom onto the clamp is too big for the hole. If I press it down far enough that the post goes down into the hole, I cannot swivel the boom on the clamp. I wanted this stand so that I could maneuver my mic into various positions to record guitars and vocals. I also wanted to get my mic in front of my face so that I could live-stream. But, no matter what I do, this stand has a mind of its own and has decided that the only place that it will hold my mic is in THIS ONE POSITION over my head. I've included a picture to show how well this item doesn't work. I'm mad at myself for even ordering this monstrosity. I should slap myself hard for paying $60.00 for this thing. At half the price of $30.00, I'd still be very unhappy with this product and its poor quality. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra $40.00 and order the Rode.Update. I was able to get the boom into place by using a heavy microphone. The USB condenser mic I have is too light for this stand. You need a heavy mic to hold this boom down.

Definitely A Solid Arm/Boom and Worth The Price
I looked at several of these studio style microphone arms before settling on this one. This one looked like it was built better and it was worth the small difference in price. It actually is sturdy and responds well when moving it around the desk area. So far, it has kept 100% of its tension and is the same as when I got it several months ago. The foam pop filters are good, I use one without a standard screen and it seems to do the trick, although a few p’s and s’s get through sometimes but for narration it works great. I also have a spare since there are two in the order. It came with two different threads and I hooked my Audio Technica condenser and it’s original mic holder into this boom perfectly. One thing I would point out is that this is designed to have a decent amount of weight from the microphone to balance out the spring. If you have an extremely light microphone, this wouldn’t be the boom for you. My mic is 5 lbs I believe. It’s an AT4040 microphone to be specific.

Solid metal construction, strong springs, weak arm joints.
I was super excited to receive this product. Opened it up, installed the desk mount & put the metal arm into the desk mount. Installed my microphone and then I moved it up and down once, and one of the bottom arms literally fell off the joint. Dropped my microphone on my hard counter. I tried to latch the arm back onto the joint but to no avail. Really disappointing and a danger to your equipment.

Terrible Product
This is absolutely horrible. I've only had the Mic Arm for no longer than 15 minutes and it seems to be broken. I am unable to adjust the arm without it pulling itself to it's tallest position. Whenever I attempt to bend the Mic Arm back down to the range I'd like it... the mic arm pulls itself back to it's tallest position again. I looked inside of the section that I thought was the cause just to find that sections of the inside appear to be bent. I believe that this is the cause of the arms inability to stay in one position.Very Disappointed. Think I'm just going to buy the RODE Mic Arm to avoid another cheap broken Mic Arm.EDIT: Also, I'm using a Razer Seiren X (1.58 lb) which meets the minimum weight requirements.

Not worth the price point.
Overall the mic arm was what i needed, but unfortunately, the construction of the joints are less than needed.I used the mic arm for half a day, the center pivot point snapped and caused my mic to come crashing down on my desk.If you dont intend on moving the mic arm once you get it set, then its perfect...... other wise do not buy, not worth the $43 price tag.

Great support for both the Yeti & aluminum shock mount
This was the 2nd unit I tried and was the perfect solution to support both the weight of the Blue Yeti microphone and the aluminum shock mount. Well worth the extra cost, as this is a high quality and great looking stand. It is also significantly longer than the less expensive units, giving you greater range of travel. A great fit!
