My 8 year old daughter received this for christmas and it was the first gift she opened and played with. Some balloons do pop, but she went in understanding this. And as long as you follow the steps exactly, the balloons are less likely to pop. We both had fun with blowing up and creating all kinds of animals with Oonies.

Bought this for my 5 year old granddaughter. I was concerned after reading the reviews that it was not a good product. She loves it and has no problem making them. Total success! They are cute. Only one broke.

This was a gift for my 4 year old nephew that loves balls and balloons. He immediately fell in love with this toy. We had to hide it from him for a while otherwise, all the oonies would be gone right away. He enjoys blowing them up and sticking them together. He doesn't really make animals with them but it sure keeps him entertained. The reason for the 4 stars is that we got a lot of duds, particularly the orange ones. None of them would blow up.

I work with toddlers and although they love playing with this toy. It’s so disappointing to see how easily the pop and deflate. I mean it’s instant on most occasions. You can go through a super refill pack in no time. I think this is a great idea with poor craftmanship on the ponies themselves. If the quality would increase then this would get 5 stars. If you really want to get the most from this. Prepare your child in advance that it will not last. It may pop or deflate and in some cases not work at all.

My daughter, stepson, and their friend really like this thing. They played with it for an hour and she still uses it here and there, which is better than most toys! It’s a little messy with all of the little sticky pieces but the sticky stuff doesn’t transfer on surfaces. My 7-year old daughter was able to put it together and I showed her the air gauge because she kept popping the little balls. She thought it was fun though!

This works just fine when you follow the directions exactly. My 6 year old daughter loves it! We only had maybe two actual duds in the whole thing. We have also ordered refills that have been working fine.Also, I was worried these would smell like chemicals or be otherwise unhealthy. I'm not an expert on the materials used but there is absolutely no smell and no gross chemical coatings of any sort that I can tell.Great toy!!

My son got a bunch of oonies for Christmas, but no machine. We should have returned the oonies, but instead we bought the machine.The machine is really just a hand pump with a needle and a shroud to protect little fingers.About 60% of the time, the oonies fail to inflate. Occasionally, one bursts inside the shroud. It isn’t messy at all, but just creates a lot of waste.Of the remaining oonies, you can decorate them, and stick them together to create all sorts of things, I guess. For about an hour.Then they deflate. They don’t seal, so they’re constantly deflating at different rates. Again, more trash.The oonies are mildly sticky. We don’t have pets, but if you do, prepare for your children to find every dog hair. The texture of these is similar to those little rubbery toys on strings that you fling and they stick to (or walk down) walls and windows. If you know what I’m referring to, you can imagine how these collect hair/dust/everything.I do not recommend this toy. It’s not well made, but even if it was, then end product is not exciting. It didn’t hold my kid’s interest and produced a lot of waste.

Those ballons are very difficult blow up successfully. 20% less .

My kids (9 & 6) loved this. Several of the balloons did pop as it says they might in the instructions, but some of this was due to them being so excited and doing it too quickly and missing out one of the steps. They just need to be supervised. I have already bought some refills. The balloons go down after several days. So if you are after something they can make and keep them don’t buy this!
