This works
I read a lot of mixed reviews about carbon dye being effective in hair removal. A lot of “experts” saying that it doesn’t work, and some clinical data saying that it is effective. I decided to do what I usually do, which is test it out myself lol. I have a rainbow of hair color on my skin. Some of my hairs are black, others brown, and super blond, almost white. I wasn’t happy with how long it was taking to use my tria laser. I first decided to try the dye on shaved hair. I noticed a huge difference in the amount of hair lost after about a week once the hair starts falling out. If you’re reading my review and decide to try it this way…do yourself a HUGE favor and get a Costco size bottle of rubbing alcohol and use it to try and get as much of the dye off of your skin before lasering. Don’t worry, the hair will still remain dyed. If you decide to go ahead and laser with the dye all over your skin, then don’t say that I didn’t warn you. Next, I decided to pluck & epilate the hair before using the dye…this was also very effective. Maybe even more so. But regardless of how you choose to use the dye, it works. Be patient. Be consistent. You’ll get there!

helps
I bought a laser hair removal a few years ago. I don't use it consistently, only when I have time. I bought this product because some of my facial hair was coming in gray after years of plucking. The carbon spray works best AFTER you actually pluck or epilate your hair, then apply. I rub it in and wipe excess; sometimes I use witch hazel to remove carbon from the skin. The object is to get the carbon INTO the hair follicle, then use the laser removal. Even with inconsistent use, my hair is much, much less on my face--including those pesky gray ones.

It works.
After rubbing it in on my chin, I waited about two or three minutes, then proceeded to used my laser. It did an outstanding job and got the gray hairs that were covered by the dye. Excellent product.

Didn’t work
I just sprayed it on and let it sit for 15 minutes, showered off and it was all gone. None of the hairs retained the color.

Update: 5/18/21 round 2. Used a glove and q tip to apply dye (don’t double dip). In succession you can see direct application, through wipe down with ✨lightly✨ damp paper towel and finally after washing with my oil cleanser post ipl treatment. This was a lot better than attempting to spray solution onto my face- 🙅🏻♀️DON’T DO IT.👏🏼 Use a q tip👏🏼.I noticed a significant difference in area sensitivity to the light where product was used, this is because it actually penetrating further down. With any luck there will be a more significant difference. I’ll update in 2 weeks.Original review-Ok so- I’m new to home IPL, have hormonal imbalances and I’m 33. Auburn hair with mixed colors including blonde, dark brown, black and grey. Yay! I bought this to try and make my home treatments more effective. How it went 😅1. It was packed and sealed in a plastic bag. No leaks, but no instructions either. Smells like printer ink when you open it. (The cap itself is not sealed)2. Carefully sprayed onto necessary area, but the sprayer cap leaked the dye and got everywhere (see images attached). I rubbed it in while trying not to panick and waited 2 minutes.3. Dry wiped it off and it barely budged so wiped with a damp paper towel enough so my skin wasn’t blackened but the pores were. Doing a test patch on one arm.4. I’ve been using my ipl at the highest setting to tried it on my arm and SNAP, ooooh boy did that sting. 😂 turned it down until I felt comfortable enough. Usually use it at 5, but ended up on level 35. My skin felt a bit sun burnt afterwards but settled down with some aloe within 15 minutes6. Tried to wash off the stain from my hands and face but it didn’t come out completely. My hands are wrecked so be sure to wear gloves 🧤. I’m sure it’ll come out when I double cleanse in the morning. For now- enjoy these terrifying (and unamused) photos and wish me luck. I’ll be back to update after a few weeks.

A mess. Seems like tattoo ink.
No way your getting that on individual hair follicles. I just painted the whole are. IPL gets very hot. You can smell hair burning. If it just wasn't so messy.

Degraded Stock?
I’ve been using this, with great success, for a while now. The last few order seem to have less and less atomized carbon coming out of the sprayer, and more of it being stuck to the inside of the bottle and other plastic parts. Has something changed in the formula? Perhaps purchasers should seek an alternative in a more appropriate container, or try to get it from a fresher batch. I dunno how we’d go about that.Respectfully,A disappointed customer
