My 2 pound puppy was able to tear up the inside of this pretty quickly and easily. Also, after about 2 weeks he figured out how to consistently escape. He is not particularly destructive but is very clever. It just seems this is likely a quality issue.I no longer have this item. Someone stole it with my dog inside. I did get my dog back after 9 days but not the carrier. They assumed it was a large purse or bag when they stole it and my sleeping puppy inside. I replaced it with a sturdier and less flashy carrier.

I normally don't post reviews, but I have to warn others before purchasing. I received this bag about a week ago. I saw reviews about the smell, I did smell an odor but it wasn't too bad. I feel like it would go away after a few uses. The bag comes flat and the zipper is an "all around" which created the shape of the bag, if that makes sense. Anyway, I used this bag to hold my dog while I dropped off some paperwork at a clinic... I heard a POP. Looked down to find my dog trotting across the clinic and had to be stopped by a very gracious (and amused) nurse. The zipper unraveled and my dog had FALLEN out of the bottom! So needless to say, I will be returning :/ Also, the water bottle holder was too small. Minor detail compared to it malfunctioning, but just thought I would add.
