I can leave the cat food out all day and no ants! Before this bowl the ants were all over it in a matter of hours. I take it in every night so the raccoons and other wildlife in our area don’t eat the food and come up on our porch and every morning I put the food out and fill the ring with water. It is heavy enough that it doesn’t slide around when my cat eats so no water spilling out all over. So happy with this purchase.

The moat width is too small on the top and tapers down even more to a shallow, rounded bottom. Being a 1 piece dish is also much more awkward & impractical to use than the regular 2 piece moat bowls we've always used. Visit the Sani-Moat site before investing in these. Even though you'll need to use your own plastic bowls with Sani-moat (check your local $ store), the set-up has worked very well or us for decades & we feed a lot of pet & feral cats.

My cat loves it and so do I. Keeps the bugs out of her bowl. I put some basil around the edges of the bowl with some water and it works beautifully.

Bought 2. After 1 season of use both have held up well using dishwasher. Only time we’ve had ants get to the food is when the water dries out of the rim, which is really our fault. I strongly recommend these for any outdoor food application where your will graze over a day/night.

Bought for my cats. They each have their own dish. This one is a good size for the cats. Would not be big enough for my dog which weighs 55#. I bought two last year that were smaller and did not work well at all. So far this one is working well. Having the water in the bottom keeps the ants out.

Water reservoir waaaaaaay to small! Ridiculous how small it is! It does keep the ants out but I have to refill it sometimes 3 times a day in order for that to happen! Great idea but making the reservoir soooooo small defeats the purpose! Totally Disappointed!

Didn't expect this to work since ants got intoy expsesive one. So far so good. No ants in dog food so far.

Very acuerit A++ I got too wait for it to be full summer too see about the ants. But so far no ants I think it's really gonna work. Great product
