Queen Bee Pewter Necklace, 22"

I've had my eye on this necklace for about one year before deciding to purchase. When I first viewed it at that time, however, it was advertised as being a 16" necklace, which is exactly the length I prefer. It was out of stock for some time and when it reappeared it was advertised as a 22" length. Unsure if this was a printing error, I decided that if I still wanted it this much after twelve months, I should just go ahead and order it. I was very pleased with the delivery time, but the necklace is, indeed, 22" as described. I liked it enough that I decided to take it to a jeweler to be shortened. They did a very nice job and I'm glad it's finally mine. The clasp, although no one will probably ever see it except me, is extremely unique and easy for me to operate. I was startled, however, the first night I wore it, to feel it drop away from my neck. It may have come undone after being caught in my hair... I'm not sure. I will need to be very aware of the possibility of this happening when I wear it in the future. I'm not sure if anyone else has ever had this experience or not, but would be interested in hearing so if they did.Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase. The bee is a special symbol to me, and this one is beautiful.

This necklace is gorgeous. I am very satisfied with it and it deserves 5 stars. Gorgeous chain and closure, and the workmanship and design is great. However, the glass body of the bee is far more of a light brown-gold than a yellow-gold as it looks in the photos on Amazon, and the chain is NOT 18.5 inches as stated in the description above. The entire necklace including the bee pendant, is not 18.5 inches but right at 17. The chain measures a little under 16 inches. Not a big problem but would have been nice to have the correct measurement in the description.

Construction is fine, but it looks like a beetle. If it weren't for the title I'd never know what it was supposed to be. For this reason I decided to return it because gifts shouldn't require explainations.

As a bee lover I couldn't resist this necklace (even if its more beetle-like than bee-like ^_~) I was expecting something bulky and cumbersome, but found the necklace to actually be rather more delicate looking. Dress I had been planning on wearing it with (a Victorian bustle dress) actually would have hidden the necklace. However, I'm delighted to find that although it did not go with the dress, it looks fabulous with a large amount of my wardrobe! It's understated classy with a touch of whimsy, and goes with almost anything. The "stone" in the center catches the light and glows beautifully. The clasp is also a nice detail if you have short hair or wear your hair up.

This mirrors the review I wrote about some of Mary's earrings which match this necklace, but the words still apply: I love whimsical jewelry which is also elegant. This necklace caught my eye a few years ago, and I bought it for myself, for my birthday, along with matching earrings. The necklace is well made, and never fails to garner compliments. I love it, it makes me feel lovely, and it gives me a lift. Mary Demarco is a true artist. Her work is wonderful.

This necklace looks unusual but cool. I bought it for a gift for my Ga.Tech graduate (yellowjackets) who loves all things bee - like. The picture shows more carving detail than what really shows up on the body, but this is a great critter find.

My family got me this necklace for my birthday! And I absolutely love it! I wear it nearly everyday and its holding up well! A great find! :D
