These are awesome I own 3 pairs. I don't know if the pple with bad reviews got a bad batch or what but all 3 of mine work great. I agree a sealed pouch would be nice to hold the battery in I wouldn't think a flap with a piece of Velcro would be to much to ask I used a safety pin and pinned the top shut works fine in the log woods so I'm certain it would be more than able to handle recreational use. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS NOT BEING ABLE TO REMOVE THE BATERRY WIRE AND HEAT PADS TO MACHINE WASH THE SOCKS! what would be so hard about a Velcro pocket and seam to remove the wire and pads so the could be clean instead I'm stuck with a nasty sweaty work sock up to my elbow handwashing. It sucks. Over then that this would be a TEN STAR REVIEW!
