Hello All! Just a quick note to indicate that I used this remote as a substitute to the original GoPro remote for use with my Hero 3+ Black. Flawless compatibility, ease of use, and the included Velcro strap was a nice touch. My only REAL gripe is the 1m waterproofing rating... I would GLADLY pay a bit more for a better waterproofed rating, as I did not dare use it under water.All in All, gave it 4 stars for all of it's Pros; only Con is the current waterproof rating... better waterproofing, and it will take the 5 stars!

I bought this to use on my GoPro 7. It took multiple attempts for it to sync up. Once it did, it is just like the GoPro remote. As others have mentioned, battery life is not so great.For $7.99, it wasn't a bad purchase. I hope it is waterproof!.

Excellent replacement remote for older GoPro (Hero 4+)

I purchased this remote on November 2018. I used it once to video record a Christmas Family Dinner get together. The remote performed very well. Next time I used it was on a trip to Puerto Rico, July 2019. My daughter and I did two touring trip and a lot of video recording of our activity (beach, rain forest) On the third trip, after recharging the battery on the remote, the remote failed to turn on. I have a portable battery with USB connection I use to charge my cell phone. I plugged in the remote and the battery showed discharged and would not charge. The remote would work with the external battery, not good since it made the remote bulky and it would not fit to the selfie stick.Less than one year of use. I am skeptical on buying another. Will Shoot (I thought it was GoPro, my mistake) sell or send me another battery? I opened the unit to measure the charging voltage for the battery. Voltage of the battery is zero without charging. 3.0 volts when trying to charge. Battery is rated for 3.7 volts. I saw that other buyers had the same problem. I would not buy this remote again nor will I recommend it unless Shoot ensures me the problem with the battery has been solved. I would be happy to send them my remote for them to inspect it for improvement. It really is a good remote otherwise if not because of the battery short life.Update - I threw that remote in the trash and bought myself a GoPro Smart Remote (GoPro Official Accessory). I paid much more, but worth the name brand for quality. I'm not going on a vacation and have the remote fail again. I know that GoPro backs their products.

Make sure your GoPro is compatible with this remote. Great price, whish it would have worked with my GoPro HERO 7 White.

Well built, easy to setup. Just got it today, so I haven't done any tests on distance or battery life, but so far, I'm impressed. I'll update this review when I've had time to really test it out, but at this point, I'd say buy this and save money over the GoPro branded remote.

This remote hooks up with my go-pro 7 and functions as one would expect...My issue is the battery life is not very good with what I use it for (cold weather) so be prepared to have to hook it up to a pocket juice type device to keep it going. It does have good range of up to about 40 yards in cold weather.
