Sweet lil file
You need to understand how this file wants to work- it doesn't have any interest in being forced against the grain or pressed on, but when you treat it gently and thoughtfully it leaves a very nice finish. I have since purchased a second iwasaki in the fine cut that is wider- this file is Very Narrow, so I find I use my second one much more frequently. I am fine woodworking professionally and these files are typically being used on ebony and hard maple. I have been using these files every day for about 2 months now and they are holding up very well

Small but very effective, especially in small areas.
Small but very handy file, did a fine job with fine finishing shaped wood. More pressure = deeper cutting , light pressure = fine cutting and smoothing.

Sharp and delightful to use!
This thing is the bomb! Very sharp, this small size is easier to control than the 200 mm extreme fine file. If I was going to have just one, this one would be it. Used carefully, it can leave a plane-like smooth surface. It cuts, rather than rasps, the wood, you actually get shavings. Technique is important. I had never really learned to use a rasp/file for wood, but watching the video on the woodcraft site was instructive. Pulling the file towards you is much easier to control. Keeping the file at an angle and drawing it down the piece gives the most aggressive cut. Pulling or pushing the file straight into the material gives the smoothest cut, but takes a lighter touch. Grain is important, just like with a plane. The fine teeth do not really clog up much. Blowing on it or using a toothbrush cleans it right up! These files are expensive; Woodcraft had a 25% off sale, so I tried them, and I'm glad I did. I would now pay the full price, because I think they are worth it. I haven't tried it, but I think this would be good for fitting joints, probably a bit more controllable than a chisel.
