Lost Highway (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray]

I believe this is Lynch’s’ 7th film, but not certain, but the point being you can tell he’s on his game. With Criterion now in the 4k business you get all the great extras and dir tor approved restorations. If you like David Lynch, Patricia Arquette, and Bill Pullman this is in your wheel house. I’m familiar with the Blu Ray and most extras and now adding a 4k hdr inserted this is a great 50% off pickup! This half off cycle I added Shaft, Lost Highway, Risky Business all 4k added to a super storm Citizen Kane 4k & Double Indemnity 4k plus others. So far criterion is firing on all cylinders and adding Lost Highway 4k has just strengthened my collection. Grab it at 50% off! As physical media starts dwindling it’s nice to see Criterion leaning into 4k. Most Criterion blu rays beat 3rd party 4ks in sound and picture. Avoid 4k that are not hdr or full restorations and avoid double dips unless you get a full restoration.

It's hard to evaluate or compare movies that are surreal. Well portrayed and good camera work. I recommend you see for yourself. Watching the 4K version at home is a trip.

I've seen every single David Lynch film and Lost Highway is still the most visceral and edgy of them all. The plot is very hard to dig into but I feel like I personally managed to figure things out; obviously we can't know for sure considering David Lynch is a maniac. Anyway, good movie, big rec. :)

The 4K/Blu Ray set is a BILLION times better than the DVD and, long before that, the VHS. As most people know, in terms of narrative, this is a rather complicated movie, and I have never counted myself among those who “understand” it. However, the sound and picture quality are so greatly improved, that I’m picking up tons of visual details and dialogue nuances (you can actually understand what people are saying!) that are helping me make better sense of this lovely film.

Cover and slip is beautiful, 4k transfer is beautiful.

A huge improvement over the dvd, sound and picture wise. Looks at least as good as the Criterion 4k uhd disc of Mulholland Dr

The movie is incredible! The criterion special features were pretty good but I would’ve liked more. But maybe that’s just me
