3-Piece German Oktoberfest Dirndl Dress, Black and Blue

This dirndl overall is good quality. It comes with 3 pieces. The blouse, which is a crop top with elastic at neck, sleeves and chest. It is a good strong material that ironed and washed really well. The apron is lightweight, but nicely made with generous ties - I was able to wrap around back to the front to indicate my "taken" status. You can also tie to indicate single, widowed, waitress and even virgin (search "dirndl apron tie" images for where to tie).My only beef with the dirndl is that the front lacing, which as a very cool edelweiss metal loop button is sewn on with a pretty poorly tied off knot. Meaning, when I was at our local Oktoberfest last weekend, 3 of the 6 buttoned came loose during various Chicken Dances and other festivities. If you buy this dirndl, I recommend reinforcing your buttons before going out with a few extra loops and knots of thread. Luckily, because they are tied off with the lacing, they do not fly off the dirndl. Instead, they drunkenly dangle, giving the wearer an appearance of sloppiness...not cool.They have now gone through a wash and came out well on the other side. The dress and apron will require a good steam ironing before going out again, and the button issue it easily addressed. I'm overall very happy with the purchase and quality beyond the buttons.Prost!

Bought this dress for my 12 year old daughter who sings in a German children's choir. They wear their dresses about 10 times per year for performances and I wanted something pretty and reasonably durable, but not horribly expensive. The dress is really pretty and appears reasonably well made. She was right on the edge according to the measurement chart, so I sized up and got her a size 6 in hopes of maybe having a second season out of it. The blouse is definitely a bit big (and my daughter is above average in her chest measurement), but the dress, while she has room to grow in it as I had hoped, is not quite so big as I thought it would be per the measurement chart. It fits nicely and we are happy with it, but I think that the dress itself may run slightly smaller than the measurement chart indicates and may be a smaller size than the blouse. It looks very nice on her and depending on how much she grows over the next year, it may serve us for next year as well. For the money, even if we only get one year out of it I consider it a good purchase and think it will meet our needs just fine.

one of the belt straps was broken.Instructions said to size up and the outfit was huge on my daughter.We needed the outfit so didn't return it.

I ordered 3 sizes because the first Dirndl was way too small (different product from different provider). I'm between a size 12 & 14 in regular clothing and I expect items like this to run small so I ordered a 12, 14 & 16. The 12 fit well but didn't leave much room for consumption at Oktoberfest, cause let's face it, beer and brats can be a bit "filling". Size 14 was much better. There was extra fabric in the sides, under the armpits. It was just a little extra room and didn't get in the way or feel uncomfortable, simply didn't appear as slimming as it could have. Then again, my hips are wider than my upper torso so it's more in how I'm built than how the dress was designed. I didn't care for the white top and ordered a separate option. This fabric was too thick and not "flattering" enough for the bust-region (too much coverage for the intended use). I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pocket - but was sad to find only one - I was feeling a bit greedy and hoped for two. The length was great and perfect for knee-high stockings.

This item had a light weight cotton feel while still having an authentic look and feel. Overall, I thought it was of decent quality and really liked the embroidery. It definitely is short and I am not sure I would feel comfortable dancing the polka in this. I ordered two different dirndls because I was nervous about the fit. I ordered this one in the larger of the two sizes I was considering. Fit was too small so I ended up returning it. I ended up keeping the other dirndl because it was longer and made of a heavier material which makes it better for dancing. If you are looking more for a cute costume than a functional outfit this is probably a good choice.

Beautiful detail in this dress! My husband is German and it exceeded our expectations. All of the reviews that say it runs small guided me to order the right size and it was hard to do but I ordered a much bigger size. I wear a 10 and I ordered a 16. Perfect fit for dress. Top was big and I had to gather it in the back, but I'm small chested..... Did I just say that on Amazon? Lol. Fit great in the arms too!

This is a costume for a once-a-year party, so I will keep it in spite if a few dusappointments. Giving you a head's up on the fact that it is a pretty short dress and the zipper only extends to just barely below the waist line. It's not made for longer waisted ladies. The only way I can put it on is over my shoulders. I had to wash the white blousette, because the starch was way too heavy. I wish that the neckline were a little lower -- it's a little too modest. Other than that, it's a very authentic and nicely embroidered and piped dress. Cute!

I love this dress. I bought it for the[...] German Beer and Cheese Festival in Austin June 4th. The dress is not like a costume, but a real German dirndl. The fabric is very nice, and the metal findings on the front look very expensive. The embroidery has a backing so it keeps it's shape. I bought the same dress from Edelweiss Creek in the red and black, and wanted to get this one, too. My decision to purchase did not disappoint. I am thrilled to have found this seller. I am probably going to get fat as I am finding all these Beer Festivals to which I can wear my German Party Dresses.
