Cehv8 Certified Ethical Hacker Version 8: Exam 312-50/Eco-350 Study Guide Edition

I've read about the first half-chapter. Happy with my purchase! Working on some other things at the moment, but I will be getting to this shortly. This will be the fourth Sybex book I've read, and I can say the other three were well worth the investment and time spent. So I'm pretty sure this one will be right up there with those. Passed my certs on first try for each of the CompTIA Security+, Network+, and Linux+. All because of Sybex! Can't wait to get into this! Just reading up on Advanced Bash Shell Scripting right now, then I'll be getting into this one.

I think this is a very good study guide. I have read most of the CEH v7 and CEH v8 books out there and I found this to be the best study guide in the lot. It is detailed and it recommends a lot of other things to look up and study as you work through the book.

While the book present information in a readable manner, if often misses the finer technical aspects of certain topics. Comparing the book to the exam is sometimes like reading a cooking book only to take a plumbing exam. It just doesn't line up with the amount of technical knowledge EC Council is asking for.Also, some of the practice questions are flat out wrong. For example, Chapter 11 asks the difference between a smurf and fraggle attack. The answer should be UDP vs ICMP, but the book says a smurf attack uses TCP. Page 263 clearly states "a smurf attack spoofs the IP address ... and sends numerous ICMP echo request packets." The same chapter has a sample question that shows a wireshark capture. The answer says it's a SYN flood but there's only a single packet in view. Other concepts, such as password salts and hashing, are incorrectly explained.I would not rely entirely on this book for your study as that would be a dangerous proposition.

Not a bad book, but falls short on a few things. The questions after each chapter are almost silly, which makes me think it is not really preparing me for the exam. Otherwise, by studying other sources, found some topics that are not covered in the book. But overall, it's a good book.

This book was clearer and easier to read than the V7 book. A must if you are V7 certified and want to brush up on skill and any changes between the two certifications.

older book with writing but has all the pages and can still read everything. still good to practice to get an idea of what to study for

Can't wait to get my hands on this one. This is a very deep exam and i look forward to going after it in the new year

Book has many pages, the pages have many words, there are many chapters, and it covers all of the major points well.

took far to long to get here do to availability .... and yea it was quite a bit thinner then expected.....

Buon libro, ma non copre tutta la preparazione necessaria per il superamento della certificazione CEH. Ho notato un approccio sugli argomenti troppo ad alto livello.

A very good book with lots of information about the subject. Would recommend.
