Pretty much an 0-40 for available channels in our neighborhood, no bueno.
Bought this for my brother-in-law, who gave up his cable. In a city with 40 potential channels to receive, sitting squarely in midtown, he could only pick up two FOX channels and a spanish-language channel, and the signal was never consistent. We moved the antenna repeatedly and re-scanned, and sometimes we'd lose all the channels. The USB signal boost is worthless, this antenna is worthless.

Great Reception for a Great Price
I was very surprised with the quality of reception right out of the box attached to our television located in the kitchen with so many stainless steel appliances and electrical stovetop within inches of the television. We like about 200 feet down a hill but have a good, mostly unobstructed path to the broadcast centers of our area (St Louis). Antennae worked right out of the box without the amplifier albeit if I move the antennae the picture pixelates briefly. We live about 30 miles (as the bird flies) from St Louis and we get good reception on all the locally broadcast channels. Again, this is without the amplifier connection which, at this point, we don’t need at this point.

Nice antenna, pulls in 40+ clear HD and 480i digital broadcast channels from Fort Myers some 25+ miles away. Didn't have to hang it in a window either. However, the 'signal amplifier' that comes with the antenna is useless - at least in my case, anyway. I had to disconnect the amplifier portion of the antenna to get it to work at all - perhaps the 'amp' was damaged in transit, as its' housing 'rattled' when I unpacked everything, indicating that something had perhaps broken off inside.

Not For Me
I was very disappointed in this product. It was no better than the passive rabbit ears I had been using. Oddly, placement of the large square portion seemed to be almost ineffective, as the picture was more dramatically improved/degraded by moving around the lead wire from the antenna to the amplifier. The stations I was trying to receive are approximately 25 miles distant. I tried three different walls in the house, front and back, and several different windows. In all instances, the one thing that made the biggest difference was the positioning of either the long coax cable run from distant parts of the house, or the antenna's own lead wire when near the TV. Several stations known to be fairly close (antennaweb.org) never tuned in. Since I am old enough to have used rabbit ears exclusively decades ago, and remember the body contortions necessary to get the rabbit ears "just right", I have decided to return this one and seek a different solution.

Antenna
Wish it would work better. Only able to pick up a few channels after moving it several times.

This antenna is no better than the old style rabbit ears antenna I already had, it was a complete waste of money. My distance from the NYC transmission sites is less than half the distance it is supposed to work for but I often get "No signal" from my HDTV.
