Although I have traveled internationally many times previously, for this particular Europe trip in late 2023, I was traveling with my girlfriend who was planning to bring her hair dryer with her. This made me question if I had the correct plug adapters / voltage converters / transformers so that she could use the hair dryer safely in Europe. Here's what I learned after some research, in case it helps anyone else who is traveling internationally.In general, most electronics are designed to operate at two voltages (dual voltage), meaning they can work with an input voltage of ~120V (US) and with an input voltage of ~240V (EU and other places). For such electronics, all you need is a plug adapter like this set of 6. The plug adapter is simple--all it does is allow your US plug to physically fit into the EU outlets. These ones worked perfectly during our trip, and they fit into the outlets snugly without any sort of looseness. (We used these in the Netherlands, Germany, Prague, and in Copenhagen without any issues.)However, some other electronics (like my girlfriend's hair dryer) are designed to operate at a single voltage, in this case with an input voltage of ~120V (US). For these electronics, a simple plug adapter is NOT adequate. The plug adapter does not convert or transform the voltage. Therefore, your electronic device would be operating at or receiving an input voltage of ~240V even though it is only designed to handle ~120V, and this may result in a number of undesirable and potentially dangerous situations including damage to your electronic device, a fire hazard, smoke and odor, a tripped circuit breaker, etc. For these electronics, you instead need to use a voltage converter or transformer to step down the ~240V from the EU outlet to ~120V, which the appliance can now "accept".Voltage converters or transformers are significantly more expensive than plug adapters, so in our case we just bought a new hair dryer that was dual voltage, and that one functioned perfectly when used in tandem with these plug adapters.

These adapters worked perfectly in Italy for the US plugs. They look and feel durable

These work perfectly, and because they're so tiny and lightweight, they're handy for keeping in your backpack/purse. As an American currently living in Spain, I don't leave home without one of these. However, because they're small and fit somewhat loosely in outlets, they aren't ideal for heavier plugs like a laptop charger. They'll still work for that purpose, but it results in the charger hanging somewhat precariously from the outlet.

The best solution for charging our electronic devices. Make sure your device supports 220V ( most electronics’ chargers do) , otherwise you will fry it.The slim design makes it fit even the deep, grounded outlets that may not allow bulkier/ flat travel adapters to be plugged in .In some outlets the fit was somewhat loose, but no overheating noted with low power devices.Would not trust a high power device unattended.

I bought these for our European vacation and they worked great. Good value for the money.

I recently purchased this set for a trip to South Africa where I read they use both the type M and type C plug. This particular set is a type C. I made sure to carry them all the time in the different places where I was staying since it's impossible to know beforehand which type of plug the accommodations will have. I found they fit perfectly in the sockets and were very reliable to charge both my camera batteries and mobile phones. The set of three is also very slim and takes up hardly any space in your bag.

It gets hot, but it's fine. works great and it's indeed 65w charger. works with MacBook pro 16 inch. android and iPhones.Some slow charging USB-C devices won't charge with this. like my bike light.Super happy, bought another one already.

I was looking for an inexpensive alternative for my trip to Brazil, this plug adapter fits and works perfectly in Brazil and the price is nothing compared to having to buy a charger directly from the manufacturer. We used it during all of our stay 16 days with no problems at all. Used to plug in our laptops, smartphones, headphones. Our electronics chargers are North American standard and we used this adapter to be able to plug the things to a Brazilian standard plug . Totally worth it.
