O'Brien's The Things They Carried (Cliffs Notes) 1st Edition

The cliff notes really helped me to unravel the stories of Tim O'Brien's masterful work.Without them I fear I would have been in the dark about many of the stories. It's great to hear the author's own words in the notes. It gave me a vicarious glimpse into the minds of soldiers and how and what they carried was so much more than tangible things. Stories - or real life, it doesn't matter. It was a very powerful book.

The "Cliff Notes" is no replacement for reading the real thing, but this text adds so much added material about the author and the stories in the text and history for the time period that anyone younger than 40 years of age can really-really benefit from in an affordable and easily read format. I purchased the Kindle version and read it after I had already read the novel. I found it opened up many new ideas and insights that actually enhanced my already high regard for the novel. I reread the novel as I read this text and discovered some new "vistas" of insight I missed in my initial reading. I definitely recommend it be purchased and read with the novel.

Great extra material for distance learning when there's less collaboration/discussion compared with a traditional classroom setting.

Liked the author's style of writing. The content was a difficult read but it is a story needs to be told. Impactful and disturbing.

If I had not read this outline, I would not have understood the book at all. I think the book is very abstract and this outline helped unravel the mysteries of the book.

Great help with World Literature. Really helped my son understand the themes presented.
