Purchased as joke prop but Boy Howdy it works!
In a world of whimsy, a Razor Buddy I bought,Just like in *Bad Bosses*, a gag, I thought. With their "Shower Buddy" selling like hotcakes,I chuckled and thought, "This is all just gimmick a fake"But to my surprise, this little thing sings,It sharpens my razor, gives it new wings!Like barbers of old with their trusty strops,It keeps my blade sharp, never flops! It doubles, it triples the life of my shave,Each morning, a joy, like a fresh, clean shave.Already it's paid for itself, oh so fine,Saving me money, it's simply divine! So for Christmas, I'll spread the cheer,Five more Razor Buddies, far and near.I'm sold on its magic, its mystical quirks,Dr. Seuss himself would be pleased with its perks!

Greatest Invention - Razors last forever!
I've had one of these from like 10 years ago and decided to replace it with a new one. Same brand, same style. My disposable razors would last 3 shave and then I'd start getting nicks or feel the scraping on my sensitive skin. I'd bleed. Using the Blade Buddy every couple of shaves, I can use a disposable razor for easily 2 months. With just a few strokes on the silicone pad, the razor is sharpened and glides across your skin like a new razor. So instead of 8+ razors a month, I'm using about 6-7 razors a year. That is a huge savings. Highly recommend.

Keeps blades clear much longer but wears out lubrication strips
Using this I can make a blade last 3-4 weeks. Unfortunately, with each swipe on the pad, the lubrication strip is taking a beating. Works great for me, as I use shaving gel, not cream.

some improvement
First of all my pad is a one piece black rubber pad. Nothing falls off as described by some reviewers. I am using Harrys blades . I always start with a brand new blade and sharpen before shaving. I kept a log for two consecutive blades. For the first 10 days it felt like a new blade. After another 8 days it felt like a 4 day old blade. After another week (total so far 25 days) it felt like a week old blade. 10 days latter it still felt the same: adequate but not quite as sharp as during the first 10 days. After a total of 40 days of shaving I decided to replace the blade. Had I been on a trip without access to a replacement I could have continued using the same one. Compared to what I obtained from this blades in the past without the benefit of the Blade Buddy, I think there is noticeable difference for the first couple of weeks. After that the benefit degrades slowly until by the 30th day or so the difference is hard to tell.

Blade-Buddy Rave Revew...
this thing works GREAT...i'm not one who lives or dies by the "perfect shave"...i shave in the shower using excess shampoo suds for "shaving cream"...i buy throw-away plastic razors by the plastic bagful, generally trying to pay about 5$ for 10...maybe a little more--i don't remember...i get the two-bladed ones...my motto is "cheap"...when i saw the BBuddy, my eyes lit up--but i instantly closed them and imagined using the same blade for a year...ok, MAYBE not, but if i can make a 50-cent blade last a month??...sweet!!...6$ a year to shave?...it can get no better than that...well, i'm on my way...i started with a new double-bladed plastic throwaway razor that, in bulk was 48 cents...i have, at this writing, been using it for 5 weeks...the shave is, at least, comfortable...i'm not a martyr--when it starts to pull and i find that i can't improve its edge, i'm giving up...i follow the instructions and slick up the surface with a microscopic squirt of 'edge shaving gel'...i stroke it (the razor) as in the direction indicated and for the number of passes indicated (again, i'm talking about the razor)...rinse off the unit, store it, and i'm ready to go...every now and again i skip the process and use it without dressing the edge...if you're using a razor that takes 1$ blades and you're even getting a week's use out of it, this is the item for you...i can only imagine the use one would get when starting with a quality blade...needless to say, thie BBud will pay for itself in short order...

Unfortunately, didn't work for me...
After reading all the great reviews, I had high hopes that the Blade Buddy would extend the life of my (relatively expensive) Mach 3 Turbo razor blades. It made sense to me that this product could essentially function as a strop to keep the razor edge sharper. All of the positive reviews encouraged me to purchase it.After trying it for a few months per the directions, I have to say that I am very disappointed and have stopped using it because I found it made no difference at all for me. I started with two fresh blades, alternating between the two each day. On one, I used the razor buddy each time I shaved. On the other, I didn't use the razor buddy and just rinsed the razor off. Unfortunately, both razors (the one I used the blade buddy on and the one I didn't) started getting dull right around the same time and I ended up scrapping both razors right about the same time. I repeated the experiment again, this time stropping more times on the blade buddy before using the one razor (probably more like 40 times rather than the recommended 15-20). Same deal - no difference in when the razor started feeling dull.I used the razor buddy as directed (lubricating it with a small amount of shaving cream and then stropping the blade on it several times before use), but I didn't find it extended the razor lifetime at all....Has anyone else tried an experiment like this to see if the blade life was actually extended? I just can't understand all the positive reviews and wonder if it might just be a placebo effect.I wish I had saved the $8 or whatever it cost...
