WHITE NitroAV Professional -3ft- FireWire800 (9Pin) -to- FireWire800 (9Pin) Cable

I bought this Firewire 800 cable for a very simple purpose. I wanted a cheap and reliable way to connect my 24" iMac with an external Firewire Hard Drive (an Iomega Mac Companion 2 TB drive) to make transfers and back ups as fast as possible. As I don't plan on moving the hard drive around much (if at all) I didn't need anything fancy, I just needed it to connect solidly and work.This cable fit the bill nicely. To begin with, it is about half the price of any other Firewire 800 cables I could find. It works well, and speeds are as expected for a Firewire 800 device. The internal hard drive of my iMac is a 5,400RPM drive, the external drive has a 7,200RPM drive, so I was a bit limited by the iMac's write speeds. For what it's worth, I was able to transfer 33,000 (yes, that is thousand!!) photos that took up 220GB to the external hard drive in a little over 5 and a half hours.One thing that I was initially concerned with was that the connectors themselves are made of plastic and I was worried about stability and longevity with them. They actually connect extremely well and hold tightly. As I said, I'm not going to be moving my external HD around much, so for me it's perfect-connect it and forget it. I don't foresee any issues in regards to them breaking or disconnecting.Another thing to realize is that this cable will not work with Firewire 400 devices. It has a different number of pins and you need to get the right connector for your device. It's not relevant to my needs currently, but I thought it was something worth mentioning since, ultimately, the price is about the same as most Firewire 400 cables of the same length (and cheaper than some of them!) and you might as well make sure you can use it before you buy it.If any issues come up, I'll update my review. But as it now stands, this cable is awesome and works perfectly to give me a high speed connection at an affordable price. I would definitely recommend it.

Works as expected. I don't think there's anything exciting to say about a Firewire cable and not that good a writer to make up an exciting story about how this cable saved the day.

Great quality, durability, appearance, and functionality. A perfect length of cable if you're into keeping the drive close to the computer and care about avoiding wire "spaghetti." Recommended.

I didn't realize the connectors/plugs were plastic, but they fit perfectly; length is exactly what I needed. I recommend it.

Excellent build cable. This cable is built to the quality of Granite, Oyaide, or Pearstone. Very quality construction. This is a high end cable that will last.
