I was able to add the two Vizio products to my SimpleControl software and it works like a charm
The negative comments on this product surprise me. I used SimpleControl to set up a home theater consisting of a Vizio TV and soundbar, along with a Directv set-top box, an Apple Tv STB, and a Roku. The three set-top boxes were all configurable using IP control. The two Vizio products, although both brand new, were not. Apparently Vizio doesn't provide the information necessary for third party applications to control Vizio's products using IP. The only way these could be controlled was through infrared (IR). The simple blaster permits control of two separate devices using IR emitters attached to each device and, in addition, provides an IR "blaster" for IR control of components in the blaster's line of sight. In setting up the device, you tell it precisely which components you plan on controlling using IR. The directions are on point, although hardly elaborate. Following those directions, I was able to add the two Vizio products to my SimpleControl software and it works like a charm. This product has enabled me to control all five components perfectly.

Horrible. The simple complete cables don't work
Horrible. The simple complete cables don't work. Tried to connect my Samsung tv through the infrared function with no success. $119 down the drain.Update: I had to change settings from my PC by logging into the settings page. Then I had to figure just exactly what to do with the cables. Directions were pretty vague. So I finally had a breakthrough and will tweak settings when I have time. It's got great potential so I'll update again when I attempt to tweak settings. Its frustrating but stick with it.

WIFI settings required hurt my overall network performance
I about hit this after doing tons of research online. I have an entertainment center area that has 6 remotes and hate dealing with all of them. I would also like to expand my control to the rest of the house over time to include lights, doors and sensors. I had problems setting this up on my wifi and could not find any help with troubleshooting the issue. The troubleshooting provided with the simple blaster was just that, simple. Finally I found a note on the original purchase site of the OEM that stated "WPA/WOA2 (TKIP, AES & Mixed) so I tried changing my router setting from WPA2 to WPA. It finally connected. I could not get WPA2 or WPS. SO... I had to go with WPA security. No big deal right? Well maybe, except on my super fast awesome router it let me know that with WPA security, the speed is limited to only run the "g" and would not be able to run the newer faster "N" protocol. That stinks because I have a bunch of devices that like to stream Amazon prime and or Netflix. I refuse to downgrade my whole system because the inability for one device to use a newer security standard that came out 12 years ago.I still like the product, but the alternative solution for me is to get the Ethernet cable version. With a Ethernet connection the device will connect directly to the network and keep the ability of all my wireless device to run the "N" protocol.I returned the this product on day two.I am ordering the Ethernet versionhttps://www.amazon.com/Simple-Control-LYSB01FEM00BM-ELECTRNCS-Blaster-Ethernet/dp/B01FEM00BM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469214184&sr=8-1&keywords=Simple+blaster+EthernetOnce I get it and evaluate it I will write a full evaluation.

When it works it works great. The wireless product could not get started
When it works it works great. The wireless product could not get started. Traded it in for a hard wired version which works OK. Once everything is set up this is a good way to integrate infrared-controlled legacy equipment.

High hopes, no quite ready for prime time.
The IR cables don't work. Had very high hopes. Trying to control a JVC HDILA that the entire screen is the IR sensor and can't find a spot to mount the IR Blaster that will deliver consistent results. The TV has RS232 control, so I bought that cable directly from Simple Blaster and it doesn't work at all. The Simple control app works great using WiFi on compatible components, unfortunately I have one unit, the TV, that needs to use IR control so it's a deal breaker at this point.

Happy with the hardware and app
Adapter works as advertised. Was able to follow the directions to connect it to my local WiFi and using the Simple Control app add my devices that I needed to control with IR. Love the app and the hardware.
