The sizes are compared to shoe sizes if that’s what you are asking. I have a L-Xl. Also I considered them from my women’s sizes from 9-10. I wear 9 , 9/, and 10 depending on brand and narrowness of certain shoes/ boots. Hopefully that helps. My co worker had some and we are in all types of weather. I also put them on my riding boots. I fell the year before and I can get a bit paranoid with ice now. They are definitely worth the purchase. I carry them around all through the Midwest winter.

Q: Will they fit a mens12.5?

I wear size 12 and it fits me, though it's a bit of an effort to get on the shoe. However, once it's on, I have found that it really helps me walking over ice and snow.

Q: What is the size range for l-xl - is it ok for men's size 11?

Xl fits my husband size 11. May need to stretch a bit.
