This product does not come with nibs. This is a great calligraphy holder for beginners. This wooden oblique nib calligraphy holder can hold and fit most nibs in the market. The nibs it likely fits are: Brause Steno, Brause Rose, Brause No 29 FE, Brause 50 Pfannen, Brause 513, Gillott 170, Gillott 303, Gillott 1950, Hunt 22, Hunt 100, Hunt 101, Hunt 103, Leonardt 11 EF, Leonardt 33, Nikko G, Tachikwana G, Zebra G. If the nibs are difficult to put it or take out, use a fabric or rag to assist, use caution and try not to spring the tines. If the nib cannot fit, you can carefully adjust the brass flange with pliers if you have the expertise, however, we HIGHLY suggest to return it instead as adjusting can compromise the holder’s functions. Also note that the brass flange is not removable. This holder is light weight, has medium thickness, and features a gorgeous ornamental design. Reliable, perfect for those of us with death-grips, correct nib-flange alignment
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have been using this holder for several months now and it is reliable, easy to use, and user friendly. In regards to the people saying it is uncomfortable to use, a lot of beginners tend to have trouble using oblique pen holders--not just this one--because they require hand position adjustments. As a calligrapher for over two years, I can attest that it is very comfortable and easy to use, especially if you require a wider handle because of a death-grip. The nib-flange alignment may be "off" because of the nib you are using. That is why this holder has an adjustable flange. If you nib does not fit or you need it to become a bit tighter, simply look up any of the numerous tutorials on YouTube and you can easily adjust the flange. As a reference, we calligraphers recommend that the tip of the nib aligns with the center of the holder. Without adjusting the flange, I am able to use Hunt 101 and Nikko G nibs. However, if I were to use larger nibs like the Brause Blue Pumpkin or Hunt EF, than I would definitely need to adjust the flange. I reccomend cleaning nibs AND THE FLANGE with 50% isopropyl alcohol, because it is gentle and will not corrode the nibs or the flange, especially with more abrasive inks like iron gall. I mainly use this holder for small projects such as writing poems and bible verses, in addition to addressing envelopes. The colour is emerald green and is is very elegant--especially because of the tail design--with silver flourishes of glitter and sparkles interspersed throughout the length of the holder. It is also perfect for my small hands and chubby fingers. Overall, I would highly recommend this holder!

Great quality!
From an artist’s perspective, I’m very impressed. The handle is very comfortable and easy to use. It has a beautiful shimmer to it. I’ve used this pen for calligraphy and art, and it performs great for both. If you’re looking for a quality pen that doesn’t cost a fortune, this might be it!

Better than Speedball
I had been using a cheap speedball oblique holder, but found the grip too thin. This pen holder is a little thicker which I like much better. I’m a beginner at calligraphy but I’ve been practicing and this holder is helping.

So close to perfect but no quality control
Flange hole off center (in the WRONG direction) and the part of the flange that slides into the center hole is to small and allows the flange to move around with the slightest pressure.

What more can I say... My wife loved it so that's all that matters. No clue how to Caligraphy or what Oblique Nib caligraphy pen speak even means, but the wife loves it so in my opinion it should get infinity stars for ever.

It looks cheaply made and it is not comfortable to use.

Does not come with the nib tips. You get what you pay for.
Does not come with nibs. Cheaply made, but if you find some good nibs that work, it should do the job for beginners.
