A good read
Provided an in depth analysis of David Moyes' dismissal from Man U. Explains what went wrong for Moyes. Then goes on to discuss Moyes' replacement, Louis van Gaal. Excellent analysis of the Moyes' situation. Overall, a good read.

Nice one Jamie
While not always a fan of Mr. Jackson's space filling Guardian columns, this is another matter altogether. However bad one thought the Moyes era was, this well written chronicle ably demonstrates that it was much much worse. The Van Gaal section is equally compelling. A must read for any football fan wondering how things went so badly off the rails, so quickly.

Good section on Van Gaal's early months at Man Utd.
A very good read. The section on Van Gaal is much stronger, perhaps because he is much more of a personality? It seems Moyes might be more vanilla in real life as well as on the page. The author has a much more literary style than I am used to with newspaper reporters. His writing took some getting used to, but overall is really good.

Book let down by disappointing first half
I do like these type of books, the one's that review seasons in detail. a prime example of this is Daniel Taylor's superb "This is the one". The idea behind the book is a clever one, review the two most recent seasons after the retirement of the most successful manger in the clubs history Alex Ferguson. The first season was always going to be the most challenging as David Moyes the man who replaced Ferguson had a momentous task on his hands trying to keep the club successful with what was largely an ageing squad. This is unfortunately where the book falls down as it seems very rushed and doesn't offer much more on Moyes rather short stay as manager. It would have been nice to cover more of the season rather than the turmoil only as the book seems to jump very quickly. No such problem for Luis Van Gaal's first season which is covered in detail and is the strongest part of the book.If the first half of the book was covered in as much detail as the second we would have had an excellent contrasting look at the two men who have taken on the toughest job in football. The book is still a good read especially the second half covering Van Gaal's first season in charge.

Excellent Read!
Reads like the author is actually there in the room when all these events were unfolding. Absolutely fascinating, I couldn't put it down.

Avoid
Thought this book would be in depth but it is just a summary of the season that Moyes was in charge with info that is already knownNothing new is in this book

Good idea but flawed
Started well but didn't keep my attention throughout. The insight into the Moyes era was interesting but the Van Gaal sections got too repetitive on match by match analysis. Good idea but flawed.
