Lynn Manufacturing Replacement Hearthstone Baffle Kit, Manchester 8360, 93-76600, 2433A

If you are reading this, you are as sad as I was when I broke the very fragile existing baffle trying to get 15 years of ash/creosote out of the top. The installer had left a piece of strapping across the oval-round flue adapter so I could not get a shop vac in there (why I almost always do things myself). I looked around for options and found this one. Someone put a lot of thought into this part.• Arrived well packaged.• Fit perfectly. I did not have to cut it.• Is designed for easy installation. If you are reading this, you know this matters. BTW… Find the two cotter pins.• The shiplap seam works very well. I’m not worried about it.• It is far more affordable than other options. Paying more for a less good installation experience was not in my plan.• It is fire rated 1800 degrees rather than the original 2300. If I ever get there, I'll buy another one...I’ve had about three weeks of fires and some hot ones, and the baffle doesn’t appear different than the day I put it in. Someone should recognize the person that designed this part. Thank You.

installation a little difficult

A very good value great fit finely found a video of the install and about 1 and a half hr to install. I recommend downing this on a weekend as there are no divorce lawyers work weekends.

No directions were included. I watched a YouTube installation video (for a different Hearthstone model of stove) which gave me the information I needed. Actual installation then took only about 10 to 15 minutes. However, for a "Tribute" model stove, you have to decide if you want the baffle parallel to the bottom of the stove, or if you want it at a slight angle (the front of the baffle higher than the rear of the baffle). In the "Tribute" model there is a small ledge (made from a piece of angle-iron) at the top of the rear interior face of the fire chamber. Installing the rear edge of the baffle on this small ledge will put the baffle at a slight angle, with the front edge of the baffle slightly higher than the rear edge. But, I chose to install the rear edge of the baffle on top of a rear frame-member of rear face of the fire chamber, as this put the holes for the stainless-steel wires (which hold the baffle in place) directly over the front tube in the upper part of the fire chamber, making the holding-wires very easy to install. So far - after about four or five weeks - no problems.

We end up replacing these baffles every 4-5 years due to logs punching holes in them if we over load the furnace. The originals from the factory feel slightly different, lighter and maybe a bit thicker, but you need to cut them in two ignorer to install them. These have a ship lap cut already made, and fit together very well in the fire box. The improvement in draft is noticeable, and the renewed performance is great. Even with these possibly being 1/8" or so thinner, the material feels denser, and more durable. Assuming we get the same lifespan (or better) as the factory ones, we will use these from now on.

This replacement baffle board for our Hearthstone Clydesdale insert was very economical when compared to a factory original which runs in the neighborhood of $200+. The most difficult part of replacing this board is the removal of the board carrier frame which is quite heavy and somewhat time consuming and difficult to do. You can go to Hearthstone's web site and see the procedure in the page for the Clydrsdale insert. Be very careful how you handle this board as it is very light and fragile. I would suggest that you apply some anti seize to the screws and bolts to make them easier to remove in the future. Since the original board was about six years old, I can't rate how long this board may last. Although this board was received in good condition thanks to its factory packaging, Amazon did a poor job by placing it in an oversized carton with no paper or peanuts to keep it from sliding around.

Update: This seller is EXCELLENT!1) To be fair, I ordered a baffle based on the name of my Hearthstone Stove, I did not dig deep to find the model number of the Castleton Stove I own. The baffle I ordered was a replacement for an earlier model 8030 (my model wasn't listed yet as available from Lynn, 8031) 2) The package WAS missing the metal parts, 3) This baffle actually does fit (snugly) in my stove and I am heating my house with it. After discussing the differences in the baffles between the 8030 and the 8031, I am leaving this one in my stove until the end of the season. 4) They contacted me the day that my Amazon review was posted and are making sure I have the proper baffles for my stove.I highly recommend buying from this manufacturer.This kit was supposed to be a "kit" with a metal bar and cotter pins along with the baffle. There were no metal parts included, just the baffle. The holes in the baffle are drilled to align with this bar...the holes do not align with the original frame in my Castleton, so I cannot install this baffle with the hardware I have...need their bar to match the holes in the baffle. Snow is on the way, and I cannot get my woodstove back to functioning properly.

Great replacement set for our wood stove. There was a mental flange piece that was missing, but my husband contacted the manufacturer and the piece was mailed right over.

Product looks great, well packaged and arrived in a timely fashion; for some reason even with ordering the correct model replacement for my hearthstone I had to drill for the brackets and assemble the Humpty Dumpty broken pieces of my old one and re-cut this entire board to fit the stove, not the most difficult job ever but these extra steps didn’t help save any time
