Ant Proof Bowl (Red)

We live in Florida and have outside working cats that we feed. Ants are always a problem, and we’ve had to place our food bowls in dishes of water. But no more. This bowl does what it says it does! We’ve had one for almost a year now and ZERO ants. The bowl is rather large, so we put a smaller container inside the bowl. Wish they’d come in different sizes. These are kind of pricey and the shipping cost is crazy, but we’re slowly adding more to our inventory. Wish Amazon would include these with their Prime free shipping. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars. From a functionality standpoint the bowl is clearly 5 stars >^.^<

For the most part, it works, but somehow a few small ants still manage to find their way in there SOMETIMES. Most of the time there's none, but every now and then I find a few ants. But either way, definitely better than before, turn my head for 2 seconds and my cat's food would be covered in ants. For concerns about its size, another reviewer commented that it's ridiculously large. As strange as it may sound, that comment made me laugh, a lot more than I probably should, as I imagined some tremendous bowl of epic proportions and it actually made me want to buy it even more just to see if it's true. Well, it actually kind of is, it's definitely a lot larger than you'd think it is from looking at the photo, but my cat has no issues getting her head into it to eat the food. I think if you have a very short cat or a kitten, this bowl would not at all work for you, but I think any average sized adult cat wouldn't have a problem eating from it, and it'll look kind of hilarious eating out of this big gigantic red bowl, lol.

THESE ARE PRICEY BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I TRIED ANOTHER BRAND THAT WAS TOO SMALL AND DID NOT WORK AS WELL. THIS IS MY SECOND PURCHASE OF THIS TYPE AND I PARTICIPATE IN A FERAL CAT FEEDING GROUP WHICH USES MANY OF THESE. THEY ARE SO STURDY, EASY TO CLEAN, DO NOT REQUIRE ADDING WATER LIKE MANY OTHERS, AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE ANT INSIDE THE BOWL AT ANY FEEDING STATION.

For the most part it does keep ants out. A couple have somehow managed to get in it. But it’s soooooo much better than any other pet bowl I’ve ever had.

My old cat was dropping food through her missing teeth and ants were swarming whatever she dropped and then taking over the bowl. I bought the ant proof dish a couple of weeks ago and it works like a charm. It's big enough to catch whatever she drops and the ants haven't figured it out. Last night I forgot and gave her salmon on a plate and this morning they had swarmed the plate but not one made it into the food in the ant proof bowl! I love it!

I have had this bowl for a few weeks now and I haven't seen an ant in it yet. I live out in the country where ants are BAD and they had gotten into every other food set up I had tried. The bowl is large but not nearly as large as some other reviews would have led me to believe. My cat can eat out of it without any trouble. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

This bowl has yet to allow a single ant into our dog's food. Before we were using it, we were throwing some pretty expensive food (ant infested) into the trash on a fairly regular basis. This bowl probably paid for itself within a couple of weeks.

Seems to be working have not seen any ants yet. I do wish they were not so high probably better for dogs than cats.
