Worked great, but...
Bought this to make spaetzle for my American Legion post's Oktoberfest. Thought the color would help it stand out and make sure I got it back. :)Item arrived on time. Used the recipe on the back of the packaging, scaled up x6, plus some nutmeg. Boiled the water, made the dough, put the dough in, and it worked like a champ.Till it broke. The place where the plastic handle meets the metal grate is the weak spot. It went back together, then fell apart again. Using it for about 40 hoppers of dough, it came apart three times. I'm keeping it, and going to use it at home, for which it should be fine, but if I were to do a big batch again, I'd probably get the all metal version. Overall, it's easy to make the dough, easy to use this maker, and spaetzle is much tastier than pasta. I'd recommend it.

A MUST for spaetzle making!
This is THE most useful tool you can own if you love spaetzle, the German comfort food. And if you've never had spaetzle, you're missing out. It's like a yummy, tasty, puffy buttered egg noodle. I followed the recipe (only eggs, flour, salt, milk) on the back of this tool and it was a tad dry, so I added more milk and it was fine. You want it to be runny enough to fit through the holes. Anyway, I think the thing that took the longest was waiting for the water to boil. I had a large batch of homemade spaetzle in less than 10 minutes. My daughter said it's her new favorite food. My mom was so impressed she had to buy one, too! And the price is sure cheap enough. GET IT!

Great price, clean immediately.
Handle comes off for easier cleaning, but sometimes gets loose so I will have to bend the metal in a bit to keep it in place. No big deal as I like to take it apart to clean. One downfall so far is it is a little hard to clean because the holes are sharp. My suggestion is to wash it IMMEDIATELY after use so it has zero time to stick as the dough hardens and doesn't want to budge. Overall, I think the only thing I would change is how the handle connects to the frame. Possibly a latch that you need to unhook before it comes off, so it can lock in place better? The box did come with a recipe which worked really well.

Essential for making spaetzle
I don't normally like a single purpose kitchen tool, but this one is essential for ease of making spaetzle

Making home made noodles just became quick and easy.
We love chicken and noodles but making noodles is time consuming, hard work, and messy. While the texture is a bit different (these are firmer) the flavor is great and takes a fraction of the time and effort. You can also make "mac and cheese" or traditional German spaetzle.

So Easy
I'm german and back in the days I learned to make Spätzle with a wooden board and a scraper. At some point, after all the burned knuckles over boiling water, i switched to a plastic one with holes in it. Worked just fine but melted over the pot on my gas stove. I needed a better solution. I found this and tried it the other day and OMG, how easy can it be. You simply fill the dough in and slide back and forth. They are not as long as the handmade ones on the wooden board but and more like Knöpfle, but I couldn't care less. The family loves them and I'm back in the Spätzle Business :)

Great buy!! Easy to use.
Bought this to make spaetzle for the first time ever. This was so easy to use!! It made perfect pebbly pieces that cooked quickly and evenly. I do recommend washing it immediately after use, or at least rinsing it off or putting it to soak right away. I let it sit while i cooked the rest of my meal and the batter turned to glue!! Had to soak and wait longer to wash it -- but that was my issue, not the spaetzle maker's. Great buy & I hope it lasts!!

Worked okay but the handle is garbage
When I bought this I was able to use it a few times fine but after that the plastic handle would come off when I was trying to use it. I can still use it however it is much more difficult because you have to keep the handle on while you're trying to work the batter. I would suggest trying to find one with a more durable handle attachment
