Excellent Book to calm anxiety
This may be a small book but it’s full of words written by the infamous Max Lucado. It’s written to be read over 11 weeks but it’s easy to read in one sitting. Through my pictures you can see the 11 weeks content & if you feel this book is for you. The key focus to the book is C.A.L.M. Celebrate, Ask, Leave & Meditate. This is written in simple terms which are easy to understand. I’ve been practicing this method & it’s worked for me during times of anxiety. Each week Mr. Lucado writes his words of wisdom followed by a “Verse for Reflection” & “Pray It Through” In remembering what I’ve read, practicing his words & rereading this when I need to, I’ve found I’ve been able to control my anxiety much more than I did before. One thing that I really have focused on is a piece in the book about worry, which is a trigger to my anxiety. It’s explained how “worry happens when we keep our problems to ourselves” & “peace happens when we pray.” Short sentences that say so much. I highly recommend this book to anyone who suffers from anxiety but I also feel everyone would benefit from reading this book.

Wonderful little resource
This book is such an easy-to-read, accessible, quick resource for anyone looking for a Biblically-based guide to handling anxiety. So many great nuggets in such a little book. It paired so well with an anxiety study (from Daily Grace Co.) that I just finished with a group from our church that I wish I’d ordered copies for everyone in the group. Highly recommend!

I didn't have high hopes for this book, because literally NOTHING I've tried has ever helped me...
I am a person who has always been on the high-strung side of life, but not someone who has really suffered from anxiety. Four years ago, however, for some reason still unknown, anxiety just sort of appeared, and it has tormented me ever since. I am a firm advocate against long-term prescription medication, and so have tried other methods to control my anxiety, such as breathing exercises and meditation. Meditation practically never works, but I keep trying. Breathing exercises work sometimes, but not with complete effectiveness. I can usually stave off a panic attack, but I can't control the underlying anxiety, so it just pops back up again, often times later in the same day.I saw this booklet on a "coming soon" list about two weeks ago, and instantly added it to my wish list. To be honest, however, I didn't have very high hopes. I've read other, much longer books on anxiety, and not a one of them helped me. Their message didn't resonate. I couldn't connect with it, and therefore, I couldn't hear it.So with that being said, I'll say next that the message in this booklet was EXACTLY what I needed to hear. It was a message that finally resonated, and though I didn't anticipate feeling this way, I'm so grateful it's as short as it is. Its length will make it possible for me to read it over and over, particularly the introduction -- which is perhaps the most accurate depiction of what it's like to have anxiety that I've ever heard. Last week I had a panic attack that was so bad I finally ended up in the doctor's office looking for Valium, after a four year struggle to stay away from it. I haven't been able to bring myself to take any, but, it's still there, sitting on my shelf. Today (in just a couple of hours, actually) I am supposed to go to a therapy session with a new therapist, who I firmly believe will want to discuss long-term medication such as Celexa.I've been desperate for another solution, and I just can't call it coincidence that I came across this booklet at, seemingly, the exact moment I most desperately needed it. Self-help books have never helped me when it comes to anxiety. But for the first time, I think this book has a real shot. It isn't necessarily the content that's so different. It's the way the message was delivered: full of peace and hope. It's the best purchase I've made all year. Maybe the best purchase I've made in the last four years. And I'd recommend it to literally ANYONE struggling to deal with their anxiety in healthy and permanent ways. I read it, and look at the outlined plan, and think: you know what? I can do this!!!

Described me in the first few pages
This really spoke to me, as if the writer knew me and how stress was taking its toll. I found it very helpful, and right away a coping tool i learned helped in a very stressful work situation. it's a short little quick read ..meant to be an 11 week study, but i burned right through it, and re-read it as needed. fretting less is easier said than done, but this little book helps me to examine what drives me to it and some things that i can work with to alleviate it.

Excellent for Those who Struggle with Anxiety
I have been a big fan of Max Lucado for many years. He writes in a way that many of us can really relate and understand. This little book has been so useful to me that I have bought several copies to share with friends & family. When I am having a bad day I reread it and even bought a version to read on my tablet. If you struggle with anxiety, you might find this as helpful as I have. Excellent book and a quick read.

I regret not buying it earlier!
It's a small book of 40 pages. When it arrived, and I saw how thin it was, I was like ohh ...but then when I started to read it I was really happy with the content. I was skeptical about it but it's nice to read someone put into words how you feel when no one seems to understand (or know what to say).A quote from the beginning of the book that I liked: ”Anxiety and fear are cousins but not twins. Fear sees a threat. Anxiety imagines one."I think it's the kind of book you read and use to reflect on your life. It's not going to fix your problem but it is a nice step to understand those anxious feelings better. Definitly a nice read for anyone who struggle with anxious thoughts. Would recommend!

Empathetic, spiritual and practical help with anxiety
I highly recommend this book to all people suffering with anxiety. It's easy to understand and apply the life-giving principles, techniques and scriptures in this book that can defeat this 21st century disease. Max Lucado gives helpful examples and powerful prayers for his readers. And this book is beautifully written and calms the distracted mind.

Quick read.
Excellent bible buddy for when you need additional guidance on anxiety yet you don't have the time to delve deep into independent study.

Good guidance and comforting
This is written as an eleven-week action plan but I found reading it straight off very useful. As with all Max’s books I expect to read it many more times. If I use it as an eleven week action plan I will review it again, from that perspective.
