Very cute pair of shoes. My daughter has been wearing this type of shoes for awhile she struggles with shoes and goes through so many pair a year but once we switched to Billy footwear they last awhile. The quality is awesome. Not a price either

Works amazing for kids with SMOs or AFOs or crickets! I would size up when you buy these! But ultimately a great shoe! Easy to put on!

I purchased the white with rainbow laces in size 9T to fit over surestep smo braces and these shoes fit perfectly. My four year old is very petite though and I measured her feet with the braces on. She wears an 8t and has narrow/normal width feet so if your child is wide they may not zip. I went up one size because the braces have a closed heel and do add a tiny bit of length. From the manufacturer website it looks like they are working on making wide width shoes in the future. Just make sure you measure before you buy. As for the laces, I left the top hole empty and can tie them but depending on the braces you may need longer laces. One last thing... My little one will not be able to zip them up as it does take some effort, even for me. It may be a little difficult for an older child to do by themselves too, since you really have to hold the canvas together while zipping.This is my first experience with braces and finding shoes that fit so I can't compare to any other brands yet. If Billy comes out with the wide width I will definitely get those because I think it's going to be easier to get on and I wouldn't have to loosen the laces so much. For now I am so happy with these and will be buying more styles. They are really cute and seem to be made very well.

I liked because it was perfect for my daughter that need used brace after surgery. The product is easy to wear and hight quality. Goos for kids thar have difficult to do tie shoelaces

Our daughter has special needs and must use orthotics to provide ankle support. With her full-coverage orthotics, it's very difficult to find shoes that will accommodate the added width and depth needed. These Billy shoes are the only brand of shoes that we have found that works and they do so wonderfully. She can wear her orthotics and the shoes without any alterations to the shoes. Furthermore, because they fully open with a zipper, she can put them on and off all by herself without assistance. We are grateful that someone has recognized and addressed this need.I only wish there was a greater variety of such shoes, so that our daughter could enjoy the experience of choosing shoes that she likes, but either way, we are at least grateful there is something that works for her.

Thought these were designed mostly for people who use braces. Be careful as they were not “tall” enough in the bed due to the brace thickness that allow zipper to work. Even when removing the insoles.

I purchased these to fit over my toddlers SMO orthotics and they are wonderful!!Upon arrival, I was so excited and tried to put them on my toddler instantly. Woah- big mistake. Loosen. The. Laces. The zipper tricked me. I thought the laces didn’t matter, but they definitely do. And if you are also trying to cover an appliance- loosen those babies up alllll the way. Once I did that- we were golden. The zipper ended up running right over one of her clasps- so I took the shoe liner out - which gave her feet a little more wiggle room. Overall, these shoes are great.
