Pump short circuit kills fish
This is my 4th Savio pump for my Savio pond skimmer in 5 years. The previous 3 pumps died in 2 years, 1 year and 2 years respectively. The 2nd one failed less than 2 years so I got a free warranty replacement. All 3 times, the pump failed the same way - they developed shorts and keep tripping the circuit breaker. The last pump caused the worst damage, it electrocuted all my 30+ fish. Note the 'short' has 10 ohm in resistance so it won't trip the breaker right away (more like 20-30 min) which is long enough to kill the fish.Google research tells me that pump short is likely caused by overheating which melts the internal coil. The reason of overheating is that it runs without water in the skimmer tank. This situation did happen to me when the filter pads are really dirty and block the water from flowing into the pump tank. However, the Savio user manual mentioned there is a built-in thermo sensor which stop the pump when overheating. I wonder if the thermo sensor has design error. Now I'm on my 4th Savio pump, and I have to watch water level of the pump constantly. I can't really change a different brand because it's hard to find the right size pump to fit into the narrow Savio skimmer.

Pump does not last and company does not respond to warranty.
Our pond was set up with a Savio Water Master Solids Handling Pond Pump. The first one that came with the pond lasted over 6 years. Then we purchased another Savio Water Master Solids Handling Pond Pump from Amazon and it only lasted 17 months. We purchased a 3 Savio Water Master Solids Handling Pond Pump from Amazon and it only lasted 15 months. Company does not respond. We need a new pump but hate to order another Savio Water Master Solids Handling Pond Pump as they do not last that long. Not totally sure if it is worth the money.

Fanastic!
I had a pump like this for my koi pond. It worked great for a long time. When the pump went, I shopped locally and spent a LOT of money on a pump that was supposed to be stronger... it wasn't. I fought the greenest and stringiest algae for four years. I started researching pumps and found this one. Reviews were mixed with warranties. I looked at the Savio website and found the list of sellers that they did NOT recommend and would not honor the warrantee with. Pondliner was not on that list. I contacted them with a few questions and found they guaranteed the pump for 2 years, as well as service them. I ordered the pump and another item. I found that the other item would not work and contacted Pondliner again who promptly fixed my problem. This pump is AWESOME! I have a 1500 gallon koi pond, and the water is finally moving like it used to! I love the pump, and I love the customer service provided. I will definitely look for Pondliner for all my future koi pond needs. It was so refreshing to get quick helpful customer service. This company and their products are really great!

Lasted Three Years
The second Savio WMS1450 pump lasted three years and four months with a two-year warranty. As others have written, trips circuit breakers (tried two). Ran fine prior to suddenly stopping. Nothing clogging the pump intake or in the pump well. Water level not an issue. My expectation is to get 5+ years out of a pond pump. I would have given it three stars for four years service, or four stars for five years service, over five years would have been five stars.

Pump works well.
I am so glad to be able to get a replacement for my original water garden pump. The water flow is perfect for my waterfall and it was easy to install. The only thing I don't like is the audible hum that I don't think the other pump had but I am super sensitive to noises.

Savio Pumps have a short lifespan!
This is the 3rd Savio pump I have purchased for my pondless waterfall. The first two were 3600s and both failed after one year of use by continuously tripping the breaker. I ordered the 2050 because it drew less current and I hoped it would reduce the possibility of tripping the breaker. However, after 16 months of use, it also began tripping my breaker. Removing the pump and cleaning resulted in the same result. I also replaced the breaker to make sure that was not the problem with no success. I contacted BestNest where I had ordered the pump and was told the BestNest warranty was for one year and the manufacturer warranty was 2 years. I was provided the contact info for Savio, sent an email to customer service, and after one month have not gotten a response. I have had water features for over 20 years using various pump manufacturers and have never had pumps fail in such a short period of time. Unfortunately, since I do not want to replumb for a different pump, I will probably have to stick with another Savio 2050 and I just hope it lasts longer!

While they run they are great until they crap out
I use this pump to provide 24-7 water circulation for my koi pond. I have bought 3 so far but I only get about 12-18 months out of them before they burn out. Now they say their life expency is longer but it's not! While they run they are great until they crap out. If anyone has a better answer I would love to hear it! Before these pumps I had one smaller pump that ran for over 15 years before it quit, but I can't find a replacement for it.

Here's the deal with these pumps
Here's the deal with these pumps. Firstly they work great, and if you have a large pond you need it. Lifespan is not moretwo seasons. I repeat I've yet to own one more than two years. Then it gets interesting. When you buy it, it's already out of warranty because it's been sitting on a shelf in a garden center somewhere. Then when you call Savio they have you read them the number off the pump, and proudly tell you too bad.
