Wonderful portrait photography ideas by Imogen Dyer and Mark Wilkinson!
One Face 50 Ways is a wonderful book to add to your photography library. Imogen Dyer is a beautiful model and her photographer for this book, Mark Wilkinson, knows how to use his camera to capture that beauty. Of course the book is filled with gorgeous images of Imogen taken by Mark, but add to that the down-to-earth advice, tips, and tricks on how to shoot portraits and what you get is an instructional text simply worded that feels as if you are in a one-on-one shoot with Mark! The book is geared towards beginners and/or intermediate portrait photographers who are looking to take their portrait photography to the next level - photographers such as myself. I have found this book to be a great benefit, with chapters that detail "Posing," "Themes," "Taking Your Shot," and "Accessorizing" that will guide you through a portrait session and enable you to make stunning photos. One of the main features of the book is the fact that you're told right from the beginning that you don't need expensive equipment to make great photos. One of the camera's Mark used for some of the images was a Canon Rebel T2i, I don't think you can get any less expensive than that!I highly recommend One Face 50 Ways: The Portrait Photography ideas book. There is no doubt that after reading this book you'll come away with many ideas sparked by the words of Mark and Imogen that will help you make great portrait photographs!

If you like photo books and need some help with ideas it can be worth it.
I was expecting a bit better, but overall I enjoyed the book. I did find it useful for inspiring my own ideas which is always good. Being a fan of their YT channel, it was also nice seeing and reading about photo shoots that can't be detailed enough in a short online video.

Beautiful, simple, and very helpful
Absolutely loved it! This is my first photo book, and I'm very happy with it. Imogen has always provided excellent tips and information on how to shoot portrait photography, and this book is no different. In many ways it's better, as it allows you to truly take time to appreciate the photography, and understand the concepts that are spoken about in the book.In the book, Imogen mentions how Mark has the use of an Idea Book, and that the hope is that this book could serve as one source of inspiration to others. I personally can say that I will definitely do so, as there's already so many things I want to try based on what I've seen and read. I'm excited to get started!

Useful tool for photographers and aspiring models. Good resource to explain photoshoots.
Was a bit concerned about a book on portrait photography/modeling - but they seemed to have pulled it off. A combination of model and photographer who have worked together for quite a few years and produced some excellent images. Perhaps could have been better if there was more accompanying info about the specific lighting/posing challenges around each shot but still useful and good to use as a discussion starter between model/photographer. Might not be so useful for those photographers who like to use complex lighting and post production.

Mark and Imogen sitting in a tree!
Well, this was a must-have since i have all of their books already. and this one was a great kind of retrospective of their past shoots. I love it. There's a lot of info about how to set up a shot and great illustrations about how Mark has worked out the light and timing. If you're new to portrait photos, this will be awesome to have. Imogen's features are tricky to shoot and Mark does a great job, so you'll see quickly how he's solved issues with direction and position. Good job Mark! Thanks for the run-down. Always a pleasure to enjoy your work!

One Face 50 ways and more about creating great images!
Awesome book!I have followed Imogen on YouTube for years and all the tips and examples have been great. This book really puts it all together with beautiful sample images and explanation of what went into making the images. Mark is a master at creating great color schemes and there are plenty of examples and explanations on how the image was made. Unlike similar books that go into all the technical stuff about f-stop and shutter speeds, which are usually unique to any given situation, the emphasis of this book is about what goes into creating the mood and what grabs the viewer.

Fun book.
A fun book to flip through. I've been a fan of Mark's photography from back in the Flickr days, and I've always had a small crush on imogen. If you follow their YouTube channel you already know everything that's in the book. But it's still a fun way to kill a couple hours.

Perfect inspiration!
If you're stuck in a rut and need a new perspective or idea to get yourself jump started, this book is just what the doctor ordered. After spending a couple of hours with this book, my head is swimming with new things to try out. It is well thought out and organized. Just open it up to any page for a new idea or technique. This book is worth every penny. Just can't say enough.

Clear ideas on how to take a decent shot of the non super model
Why 5 stars...it shows what can be achieved using basic equipment and with the non technical slant gives beginners a basis to start.Imogen Dyer is "the girl next door " type, for those who are unfamiliar with her work this book supports a comprehensive YouTube channel.Following the tips, which are explained concisely with concepts around camera angles particularly interesting, gives the photographer and model the best possible outcomes.Overall an easy useful read.

Custom will never stale her infinite (well, at least fifty) variety
Those who watch Mark and Imogen’s videos will know they can inspire you to take photos using a setup you’d not tried before. However, viewing the YouTube videos means you see one or two ideas at a time. This gives you a rich resource to keep coming back to with so many different ideas

It's always good for a photographer to have a source of images ...
It's always good for a photographer to have a source of images from other photographers. I have various books, scans and, of course images from the internet. This is my latest book for my collection, lots of great pictures which, I'm sure will inspire any photographer out there. Even we professional photographers need some inspiration sometimes!

Bit basic but a great starter book for newbies
Bit basic but a great starter book for newbies. The photographer has a skill in getting great portraits using kit that you could describe as entry level. The photos in the book prove that you don't have to spend thousands of pounds to get results that you can be really proud off. Recommend check out Imogen's youtube channel. Great tips.
