Best straightener
It is super light weight & heat up pretty quickly. I love this straightener.

It works well enough
Definitely not the best one I’ve had but does the job. The heat end is too hot to hold if you’re using it to make curls. The on/off switch takes extra effort to use. It’s okay but not the greatest. It’s definitely light weight.

heats up quickly
I have naturally wavy hair that is very stubborn and looks messy when not styled. I recently cut my hair shorter and have been leaving it wild because my last straightener died and I got lazy. Thankfully, I found this straightener and I love it. It heats up quickly which is great since I am always running late in the morning. I appreciate the length and it straightened my hair quickly without additional product. I received several compliments on my hair and how straight it was and of course the "oh wow, your hair is so much longer now" since the natural wave was gone. When I woke up the next morning, my hair was still straight, which never happened with my last one.

Outer coating is slippery to hold
This Hot Tools Straightener looks sleek, is very lightweight, and has an affordable price point.Personally I found it hard to hold. While the outer coating has a very smooth matte feeling, it slips easily in my hand when I’m trying to use it. It’s like there’s no groove to keep your hand in place and because it’s so light it’s very easy for it to slide down in your hand (which gets dangerous when it’s on because it’s so hot). Also I didn’t like how light it was. I’d prefer a little more weight because I think that would’ve made it easier to hold.I like that it’s easy to turn on and adjust the temp. There’s a visual display that lets you know how hot it is and it heated up quickly.Using it I found it didn’t glide as nicely as my more expensive straightener. It seemed like it caught my hair more and it wasn’t straightening as much in the first pass, despite adjusting the temp to be higher and going slowly. I had to go over some areas multiple times.Honestly I thought that this straighter looked a lot better than it performed, so was let down while trying to use it. It just ended up frustrating me because I was expecting it to be better. It is a good price for someone who needs something not super speedy, and it looks very nice, it just didn’t give me as good of results and was more difficult to maneuver than my Chi straightener.

Great for a silk press
I have really thick really dense 4C hair and this flat iron works perfectly for me. It gets hot enough to straighten my hair without causing any damage and this display easily shows the temperature at all times and it maintains the heat for as long as I need and with all the hair on my head it takes me a while to get it all done.

Excellent flat iron
Hot Tools Pro Signature 1” Ceramic + Charcoal Flat Iron | Long-Lasting Styles $42.15Heats up quickly and has a large digital display for easy viewing. The smooth rubberized texture feels so nice in ones hands and helps to provide a good grip. the plates are super smooth and clamp well together. I have another flatiron where the plates leave a gap, so I was pleased to see that these legit clamp down completely on the hair. Leaves a very nice smooth look. No complaints. Great product and highly recommended!

Not the best...
I've been really needing a new straightener and seen this Hot Tools one and figured I would try it out. I own a few other products from Hot Tools such as curling irons and a blow dryer. I've always had a good experience with all their hair tools and thought they were pretty high quality. However, I was not very impressed with this flat iron. I used this straightener for about 2 weeks. It feels very flimsy and cheaply made. When I clamp down to straighten my hair it bends slightly inward (almost feels like if I squeeze too hard I'd snap it in half lol). It does straighten my hair but it definitely doesn't smooth it out. It leaves my hair looking very frizzy. My hair isn't thin but it isn't very thick or course either. This is probably the worst straightener I have used and I know there are definitely better ones out there.

Great flat iron
This flat iron did a great job at quickly straightening my 3a curly hair. It heats up quickly and has an easy to read screen so you know what temperature it is set to. The outside of the iron at the top does get hot, so be sure not to touch that part and it can get a little risky when you are close to your ear or neck. The plates glide smoothly over my hair and it hasn't snagged or pulled on my hair. I didn't find that this dried out my hair or left it looking fried or brittle. My hair stayed straight for a few days after using this with very few touch ups needed. I also like that this iron is dual voltage so it's perfect for international travel and you don't have to worry about ruining it when plugging it in. Overall, this is a decent iron for the price, it works well and is good quality.
